Xmas Tree strain

Any thoughts on this strain or group of strains? Early eighties there was Xmas bud in socal. I have a friend who smoked it and thinks it might have been the best he ever had. He currently smokes Gorilla Glue and other modern hybrids.

I either missed it or did not know that I had smoked it. I had some good hybrids in the early 80's. I was discussing Acapulco and my interest in that, and he said he had smoked AG and while it was good, was not even mentioned until I brought it up. I think he had the lessor Guerrero Gold as this was '77 when he had it and I think it went away by mid 70's or before.

He said a bong hit of Xmas made a guy pass out. I realize tolerance and nostalgia are a real thing but just bringing it up for the hell of it. I always hear people wanting real Skunk bud and how great that was.

I'm looking for it too so far I have had bad luck no pine in sight I don't know why I love this smell so much and the flavor can be different kinds of pines it's not just one flavor
Next I will look for it in romulan and freeze again I need to get ptk again as freeze and ptk didn't give me pine. Freeze were some bullshit hemp seed and ptk open pollination I got no pine phenos unfortunately
Also I want to look in some ace Honduras haze I wonder if what I call pine others smell as cedar. I have smelled many pine like Mexican maybe that's a cedar smell? I'm not 100%sure what cedar smells like
I need to get some old home made seeds and mexican crops going maybe I will find some pine but I'm betting that romulan genetics romulan is the place to look it's more worked versus a open pollination like the pine tar kush from verdant green that one can throw citrus non pine phenos maybe that pine tar gush collab from Tony green and verdant green is more stable for pine
Humboldt csi has a ptk too and I wonder about that Xmas 79 I just don't have deep enough pockets to try them all.
Currently I'm growing some Freakshow that is supposed to be pine and lime I'm going to make seeds

The only time I've ever seen pine pop up is when I grew med man's skunk, there was a few plants that were straight up pinecones

I have a cbd cultivar that is full on pine.. haven’t smoked it yet but as I said above it’s way piney. Wish I had something with high thc that was pine.

I was going to suggest romulan, aka port alberni pine bud.

Also, I found pine in aces Panama x banji haze. While its kept the pine after the cure, it's gotten more complex with incense and musty basement.

Back in the late 90s in northern BC I used to get "pine bud". For years, always the same exact bud. Very pine smelling and tasting. Never found a single seed, over many many lbs. I wonder if he is still around, would be nice to find out any background info.

Pine and cedar do smell similar. Pine smells come out alot more in organic soil grows in my experience.

most piney flavored flowers ive ever had came from Dutch Passions Ultra Skunk. Few hermis in the pack but 1 of them was super pine. I remember rolling up a doobie for New Years with 7 different strains and the Ultra Skunk cut right through them all. This was probably around 2000 though so no idea if they still have same genetics.

I'm about to order nirvana seeds limited edition K2 (hindu kush x white widow) its for sale i think only 1 more day, i dont know about smell but it says the flavor is pine,sweet,spicey thought for $26 ide give it a go. I remember i grew white widow many moons ago was very piney so i hope the k2 will display some pine terps. I grew Nirvanas Aurora indica 10+ years back & it was very pine cone & lemon smell/taste, i made a hybrid with it & i got one in flower now but didnt have room to grow more. just want to throw this info out there if someone was willing to dig for pine.

I also happen to have PTK & CSI's 79 xmas bud i got as freebies (10 beans) & will have to start those sometime this year & maybe do a grow journal. Looks like a lot are still on the pine hunt hope someone gets lucky soon

I always thought christmas bud was northern lights, because of the way they looked like little christmas trees when indoor was taking off in the 80's

I have also heard of loud northern lights that is piney juniper berry

WhiskeyTango used to have it via way of ndnguy along with the '88 G13/HP line. It's definitely a real thing, as this was in the southeast. That dank was far and wide.
