while this isn't my first grow ever, its my first in over 5 years and my first with good information. so i pretty much consider this my first real grow.i recently built a rubber maid setup and after getting back from home depot, i logged on to the forums and did some reading. i'm pretty sure i bought the wrong CFLs. the box says:
40 watt equivalent
Daylight (5500k)
light output: 385 lumens
energy used: 9 watts
however i have 6 of them in the box, giving me 2310 lumens. i was wondering if that would be enough light for veg for 2-4 small plants. my box is made with 2 10 gal tubs if that gives you an idea on how big it is. i'm planning on planting 4 bagseeds and if i get lucky, i might end up with 2 fems. also, i'm looking into height restriction techniques, so if anyone has any links on that, that'd be mighty helpful too.
ps. i'm planning on growing in soil
EDIT: i'm not the richest guy ever, so money is a little bit of an issue ad these lights cost me about $30 for the 6 so i'd hate to feel like i wasted the money. but i also want the right lights, so if i necessary, i have no qualms about going out and buying the good stuff
