WOW! Powder mildew scare, what next!?

I was watering my people today and I noticed that a few of the leaves had some sort of a greyish/white deposit on them... I looked a little closer. 'Shit!', I thought, 'What the hell is this crap?'. Naturally I flipped out as is expected of anyone new to flora in general. POWDER MILDEW!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH! So I went on to do my rounds of homework, frantically banging away on the keyboard fitting different words in different order trying to keep the search results coming. Example after ugly example, case after horrifying case came and went. I slowly came down from my hysteria and realized something, 'None of these closely resemble my instance...'.

I feel I should also tell you that I've been doing a bit of foliar lately as I'm an aspiring bonsai artist and have been training my plants in this way. I've removed copious amounts of leaves from my trees since I've had them. I'm thinking it could be salt buildup on the leaves. They don't appear to be damaged in any visible way.

So it now that I come before a panel of my peers to ask anyone still reading a simple question; Do any of you know of anything which is a close but not so close look-a-like to the mildew?

if it's white to gray and powdery it's PM. There are infinite degrees of effect. I fixed a light case with a foliar of Endofine followed up with baking soda @ 1tsp/L. Neem oil apparently also works. Hope that helps

The key to getting rid of powdery mildew is air circulation, I would suggest putting a small fan in your cab if u dont already have one.

Now see, this is the thing; I've had a fan in my closet since I began. The residue showed only after I began to heavily spray the foliage. I have low humidity problems with no affordable mechanized solution available to me so I substituted with hand spraying. In addition to this I've been feeding the foliage. I'm fairly certain that this is a residue, it does not resemble "powder" in any way which I've seen before. The condition is also present only on the lower most leaves of the plants leading me to believe that this is a salt build up.

Well pm does usually manifest on the lower parts of the plant first. Usually it starts as small circles of powder on the leaves, can u wipe the PM(or whatever it is) off the leaves?

PM can also be cured by sulphur burners, but only use these during the veg. stage.

a lot of times when water splashes on leaves it leaves a white/grey spot on the leaf. I ran my sulfur burner weekly until I figured out that was dried water splash, not PM

I guess this stuff is hard to completely remove from a grow site?

I threw out all my plants and started over, only to get it again. So I threw out all the plants and this time scrubbed everything down with a 5% bleach solution. Haven't seen it since. Never tried Sulfur.

Freezerboy - So bleach with water worked?? I had to fuck up my perpetual cycle due to mildew on quite a few of my gals and I can't get rid of anymore so if I wipe down the cabs with a light bleach solution think I may get rid of it?? It's not really bad I've found a few tiny spots on lower leaves think I can control this shit or do I need to start over???
