I wish fan controllers were that cheap in the Uk... sigh...

Will it work? yes
Will it be quiet? probably not! I've never seen/heard a quiet cheap fan.

Seems that having insulated ducting is the cheapest way to bring down the noise levels from fans - the longer the better - but it tends to be less stealthy

3 stealth cabs...? do they all need extraction? I've found that with low wattage/CFL lamps for mothers/clones/early veg I dont really need extraction as though there is humidity, a bit of ventilation rather than extraction suffices (after all there are no buds so rot isn't a problem). Could you spend more on a panasonic whisper for your flowering rig and economise on the others (sorry, making guesses about the arrangement of your grow here)

best wishes

3 stealth flowering, i also have a mother cab and your correct with only 8 watts of light in the forum of t12? one of those little lights for closets, since i dont need many clones from mothers, its barely 5 degrees over ambient, anyways, yes ive pretty much been thinkin bout this and i did some experimented, and i can cut down on plants and number of lights in each cab to get them computer fan - coolable, and im gonna splurge on one until next harvest

Hey lordbudly- I used similar fans. they were all metal including the fan blades, that one looks like it has plastic fan blades but other than that they look exactly the same. the prob I found were that the rivets that secure the fan motor assembly in the metal tube start to work themselves loose and start to rattle. it wasn't the loudest rattle but annoying! they need to be brazed or welded or something.

It will spin but, will it "work"? Those are a type of axial fan called "booster" fans. They work with your real fan to "boost" cfm over long duct runs. Axials are the least capable fans for dealing with back pressure such as carbon scrubbing. It may work for a dedicated cool tube run but, I wouldn't vent a garden with one.
