Would love some imput, pics, outdoor

Hello everybody!

This is my first post and was wanting some imput.

Started plant from seed of unknown origin at the end of april. This plant was to be used as a test bed and for learning expeirance. Plant grew small for first month. Transplanted to the ground by digging two foot whole and filling with great soil mix. Added a dry organic veg mix to the soil. Plant shot up. A dog cage is used for protection and camo. Thats why the plant looks like its in prison. The plant was showing indica dominate traits. Plant almost looked like a kentucky blue grass color.

2 weeks ago, 1st full week of flowering:

About 4 weeks ago the plant started showing its sex. As soon as was noticed the fertilizer was changed to bloom formulas. Not in the best part of the country to find grow shops. Wanted to get feeding so bought what was available. I ended up with 3 bloom ferts. The main one is a liquid 0-50-0 (i know strong), it gets used with every feeding, except when other ferts are used. The second is a liquid 12-35-20, that got used once a week, and a foiler feeder (cant remember npk) that was also once a week. Again this was a testbed and had the biggest stalk for its age I've ever seen, so I wanted to see what it would take, i.e. 3 ferts.

1 week ago, 2nd full week of flower and a 2 week old bud that came off a branch that had to be cleared for airflow. I vaped them immedietly and the bud tasted super sweet and sour, and got me really high, (really).

Today I observed alot of fert burn. The buds still look great, but the leaves arent and this thing isnt near done for it to be doing this. I assume the third fert was overkill and is now killing it.

Pics from today

I'm planning on ordering a flush (sense my crappy town doesnt carry jack), using the flush and water for a full week, then go from there.
If it recovers I'm planning on a full switch to fox farm big bloom. I'm going to supplement with fulvic acid, and also use "purple maxx", and "gravity flower hardener", been told great things on both, and they're only used once 2nd week to harvest. If anyone here has expeirance please let me know, very excited to try this.

What would you guys do? Would you use something else? Am I headed in the right direction? I would love some imput on this and after some time I've grown to like it alot. I want it to reach its full potential and would love feedback.

Thanks in advance, and nice to meet you!

I knew I'd forget something:joint:

I also started using a "cotton plant" multch, it said it had it had some addititives in it but nothing huge, didnt have a npk or anything. I piled it about 3-4 inches high around the soil sourronding the stalk. I thought it was harmless and with the cold weather, thought it would insulate the roots. Just wanted to add that.

Thanks
Gert

Thanks! I got the flush, used that yesterday. I decided on age old organics bloom, being that its more likely gentilier. I also got humboldt nutrients Honey ES. I'm not gonna feed any nutes this week, but will use the Honey in a folier feed. The buds are look phenom, the only gripe being that some of the small leaves of the buds are drying and dying. I also think that the bugs are finally starting to fuck with it now that the leaves are weakend by the fert burn.

Also can over feeding make the pistols change color? The pistols are changin but its still got another 2-3 weeks.

I'm so excited I've never seen an indoor plant with this much crystal, its so amazing!!!! I so wish i would have taken a cutting. I need to get a good camera as the phone doesnt do it justice. The weather has been PHENOM, big up to global warming.

Oh well, will post pics soon. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I highly suggest if you fert you do it every other watering. Ferting every watering can lead to a deadly buildup......well you've seen the result.

You can reveg after harvest if the genetics are that pleasing to you. leave some green growth and small popcorn buds, throw back under 24/7, give it three weeks...

Thanks for the advice! I doubt I'll get but 2 feedings in before she goes down. I also want to flush it clean for the last 2 weeks, which is in a week.

dank- how easy is it to clone a cutting with 5/8 inch cutting? I've never seen anyone try a cutting with a huge stem. All the stems are huge even the fan feaves. If there isnt an issue I'm going to do it.

Again can overt ferting cause pistols to change color prematurely?

High Gert, Welcome to ICmag

Dank is speaking of revegging a plant,(not cloning).
But your is in the ground right?

Dumping TO MUCH ferts on your plant will only hurt.(
To late on this one since you'll be pulling her soon.

Next time do like Cheif said and only feed every other watering.

PeaceINH

Oh I see.

If I were to pull a couple buds off a branch, let it heal, then take a cutting, keep it under 24h would it live? I do know that you can downgrade genetics by cloning flowering plants, but I've known people who have.

The plants outside. Indoor room not set up.
So again if I were to do what I said above, do you think it would work, and or be worth it? I have seeds coming but I really dig this strain, could only be better indoors done right.

thanks everybody

I never tried to clone with a 5/8 " stem. That would be my main stem, and I always have some small lateral shoots I could use. Never heard of a gentic change from cloning/veg, but it can take some time and initially creates odd looking leaves.

I generally do one of two things:

1. take cuts and clone early, when I know the plan is a female and I assume I want to keep it

2. At harvest, leave some lower buds and green folage, else trim way back and just place the whole plant back under veg lighting. Not a clone, but a reveg. Then after the plant starts to grow normally take cuttings and clone those.

Well I tried it! I took the smallest branch that was on the plant, cut the buds off and took two cuttings. I'm using a 150 watt cfl, if they root I put the 400 w MH on. I doubt both will survive but I decided to try the two anyways.

I had a relative that used to do this and had a continous grow for 10 years, never using mothers, (i know thats retarded), but it does work.

The plant is looking ok....

Heres the cuttings, lookin sad but should be golden in a week or so.

Cross my fingers, vape more immature, and stayin postive!

Well it finnally rained here. Of course it has to come at the end of flowering:wallbash: It rained an awlful lot in spring but in the past 2 months I only think its drizzled a couple times. Last night was a T-storm.

The pistols are turing colors. I can now tell the differance between fertilizer induced pistol color, and natural. The hairs looked burnt at the ends, but now they are turning purple organge and red. I'm also kinda worried because I looked at the forecast and its going to be cloudy and rainy for the next two weeks. I'm thinking about wraping nylon around the cage to protect it from the t-storms. I've seen people use plastic, but that doesnt breathe.

I also was asked why I would smoke premature buds. I didnt smoke them I vaporized them. They had to be cut anyways and I dont see the sense in curing bud thats 2 or 4 weeks old. Plus the high is truley unique.

Heres some pics

Its lookin like this is the last week!!!!! This is gonna be great!!!
:woohoo::woohoo:
Also its not looking like my clones are gonna make it. They're wilting and shriveled.. Any suggestions?

you really need to keep the cuts pretty wet. Since you took em while it was flowering it will take a very long time to root if it even roots at all. And you can def reveg as long as it doesn't get too cold. Good luck, those immature buds look dank already! Your plant looks very much like a clone I had outside but mine started flowering in the middle of the summer after moving it outside from 24/0 light and yielded shit bud made some very good oil. Same almost bluish color and bud/leaf structure. Does it happen to smell like sweet sour apples??

Sweet sour apples indeed, but unno like artificial candy. The flush and nute change made a world of differance. The clones actually have healed where the buds were snipped. No roots yet, but i think its a good sign, I also trimmed the leaves to conserve energy. But I'm pretty proad of this one, its better than most indoor garden plants ive seen in person, and it was from some random seed! I really think thats where the magic happens. I'm gonna let this plant go as long as possibal because the trichome production is just crazy.

As far as reveggin, the plant is in the ground, I cant take it out, and now that its 12/12 outside, how can I re-veg it? My old relative who used to grow is coming down to help, as he would clone harvested plants and had a top knotch garden for 10 years. See what happens cross fingers!

Heres some new pics with new camera! 2nd pic looks purple almost.

Next weeks gonna be good!:joint:

Well everything turned out alright! The flush worked, and most leaves went back to normal. Took the plants down a day before 4 straight days of t-storms. Very happy @ the results. This was never meant to be anyhing other than a refresher and learning expeiriment, but its great when you can smoke your expeirments! Been hangin since wendsday, looking good! Will prob end up with 3 oz dried, from a 3 ft plant that wasnt in full sun. I really wanted to do this before the new growroom was built. Now I'm totally psyched and pumped or some indoor fun. Ordered 3 serious seeds strains, white russian, ak47, and chronic.

Will post pics when done properly cured.
Thanks for the help, and most of all thank you gypsy nirvana for giving us all such a great place to exchange ideas and help.
