worthless plants growing in coco

Hello all, I like many of you have been curious as to what the autoflower strain hype was all about which in turn inspired me to pick up 2 packs of sour 60. Now Icmaggers my medium is straight coco currently running clones of sensi star in the same batch..no problem but it seems all my sour 60's are small worthless little plants, the biggest plant I did have turned hermi so I trashed it...but every other plant is getting3-4 inches showing sex and staying really really pitiful. Is this me or is this batch of beans just crap.please advise how these plants should be grown..thanks fam

While 3-4" might be a tad small, since your plants are just showing sex they must be about 3 weeks old. Continue feeding veg nutes till week six and you should see some rapid growth till you switch to flowering nutes. Also, soon as you sex them get the females into some 3 gallon pots. If you've got good light you should be okay.

should I start off in 3 gallon pots?

Transplant in to 2-3 gallon pots as soon as you can after sexing. Never used 3 gallon pots as a think 3 is a bit of an overkill but if you have room autos love some leg room :D Heard people say that the S60 start slow but make up for it after they hit day 30... Good luck.

What seedling said above is true, sour60 takes a tad longer in the end of veg when compared to other plants but it makes up for it in the end...I very suprised to heard your best one is 3-4 inches, what kind of light do you have them under and what size pots? If you leave an auto in a shallow pot for too long it will become stunted very quickly, unlike alot of full season plants... My s60 were about 8-10 inches tall i believe when they showed sex, they were in .5 gallon pots, as soon as they sexed i stacked the .5 gallon on top of a 1 gallon pot and they TOOK OFF FOR THE SKY, ended up being around the shortest was about 24 inches and the biggest was around 33!!

What day are they now?

You have to consider that they are different then your other strains you are growing and require different things to grow healthy. They may not like your coco! Just because they are autos people seems to have this misleading assumption that they are easier to grow. All cannabis strains require different things. You may want to change your medium and try that. FoxFarmOceanForest Soilless mix has worked well for many people, that and HappyFrog.

do you have any pics?

S60 should get quite big, take a look at reports on here about them.. Although some hermi traits have been seen a few times.

As for the 3 gallon pot, yes you can put S60 in a 3 gallon and it be very happy. Start them in 5.5 x 5.5 inch sqaure pots around 3 liters of soil. Then transplant into the 3 gallon after sexing. Seedling is correct tho some autos dont require 3 gallons but some will do much better in them. Been working on some very large AFs that require 3 gallons for healthy growth,, you just have to see what works best for the current AF strain you are trying too grow.

Thanks you all, Unfortunately I do not have pictures at this time but I think your right SGS they just didn't like the coco, so before I posted in a rage of frustration i culled them..smh, lesson learned..ask a question before you chop lol but this time im gonna start in soil and see how they do.

Yeh the firt part up to sexing is critical not to upset any auto!

I start mine in biobizz light mix now and never have any problems since..

They might start to get hungry from about 2 weeks above soil but by that time they can usually handle a light veg feed if they havn't sexed at that point.

If they have sexed just pot them up into some new soil - (i use allmix) and they will start some rapid growth :)

We've all been in the same boat i'm sure.

Good luck next time, Are you going with S60 again for your new batch?

also definetly make some seeds, then if you ever have any problems in the future it isn't a big deal to start some more
