Worst gig you have been to?

Easy question...what gig sticks out for you as a real piece of shit?

Mine would have to be Chan Marshal from Cat Power doing a solo, acoustic show. It seemed like a good idea, Chan alone on stage with just her guitar and piano...but she was f.u.c.k.e.d up. I don't know if she was drunk or high but she would start playing a song, get half way through it and then go into random stories...I found out that night how Chan lost her virginity half way through Cross Bones Style.

The crowning glory was when a few people heckled her and walked out, she stood up and told them to suck her dick....what a train wreck.

Would have to be "Fishbone". They come out on stage late .Play for like 1/2 hour ,then the lead singer goes on and on about politics for like 20 min , and the shows over ...eeeeehhhttt ..Sucked with a capital "S"

I got dragged to a Tori Amos show by my old, old lady once. I couldn't find any knitting needles to jam deep into my ears to make the pain stop. I think I'm permanently scarred as this was like 5 years ago and I still have nightmares.

I shit you not, back in highschool we had a guy come to our school to perform... he was a double amputee who played the guitar with his toes... He wasn't all that bad, I just wasnt expecting to see that when I came in that morning all blazed... I remember one of my friends getting in trouble because be kept yelling "FREEBIRD!!!"... :muahaha:

the worst show i ever saw was blues traveller at northern illinois university in 1998. the sound was muddy, could not make out the lyrics, and security was out of control on a power trip searching people for just flicking a lighter.

it would have to be Aretha Franklin. she still sounds good , but if she eats one more biscuit she will explode! after every song she'd have to talk for five minutes just to get her breathe.

Judas Priest- It was so loud that the music was distorted and turned into white noise. It was like amping a jet engine as it's taking off, vocals, lead solos, everything was lost into the painful noise void. You couldn't tell what songs they were playing, it just hurt your ears.

I saw a bummer of a keller williams show - it seemed like no one was even listening to him...plus I didn't dig the music, but man it was wierd everyone was talking.

I've been to a Paul McCartney show that was very sub par for his status (and ticket price). But....

In my mind the WORST show I went to was a Bouncing Souls show where the lead singer was so drunk he was falling around and tossing his hat, not singing the lyrics. The drummer finally got mad enough to stand up and punch him in the face - and into the crowd. The drummer promptly left the stage, lights came on, and they said they would be back in a few months.

Without a doubt, Joe Satriani back in 1992. Like watching someone practice scales over a Greg Bissonette shaped metronome. Hands down the most boring live concert I've ever attended. Put it this way... the opening act was "Badd4Good", a kid gimmick band with a grown-up little Sam from Diff'rent Strokes on vocals (seriously), Chad Wackerman's son Brooks on drums and this little 12 year old English kid on lead guitar, and they fucking blew Satriani's band off the stage. Not as polished, but way more energy.

2nd worst - Phish at Shoreline Amphitheater, 1998. In the middle of this huge crowd, I got attacked by a naked guy on some sort of crazy drugs. I could not find a place to stand that was not rife with stinky 16 year old kids in dreads and patchwork pants screaming the words to every song. If it weren't for the 2nd set half-hour "Down With Disease" that just fucking smoked it, it would have been my #1 worst. I remember it as one of the first times I missed "the old days" and became one of those "you kids will never know" curmudgeons that nobody likes.

Smashing pumpkins my brother took me. I didn't wanna go but he said the magic word "girls". It wasn't my kind of music but there were some nice looking girls there. Fight broke between some girls, then guys jumped into the fight. The police pepper sprayed the place during the middle of the show.
