I'm surprised they didn't drug test you on the spot or take you to the hospital to have it done.

Use synthetic urine.

I too believe that it is unsupervised.

Ths for the reply & I really hope ur right!
i am so on edge cuz of this. The incident happened over a week ago.....no test issued at that time so they can hit me anytime I guess, with no notice. I'll b going to physical therapy soon, so I guees that is when they'll hit me but still no idea of when. Could b soon as I walk into my 1st session, end of session, 2nd session, 3rd...anytime.....damn this is stressful cuz I know, by law, I must have a test. Plus they prescribed meds that they will probably check for in the test as 1 of them is a narcotic.....

I've gone back to work already too...I guess they could even hit me at work. Damn, damn, damn...

Wish I could just cancel the whole claim thru my corporate employer...

So much at stake here!
I'm a very grown man, with family & a good job. I don't break any laws....except I schmoke (2g's or more a day for several years) in a non med state. This really sux!!!!!!!!!! I hate feeling like this!

They were supposed to test within 8 hours of incident but did not. It was not D.O.T or vehicle related. Any positive test can/will result in termination of employment & WC claim. Plus, no unemployment benefits or severance package, etc, etc.

Man, some ish in this world really needs to change in regards to canna!!!

I wish I could just run away...........................................

Could you possibly talk to your boss and tell him straight up your situation? At my last job I was hurt and had to go to the emergency room,as soon as they new I was working they tested me while I was still there. I failed big time. The nurse asked if I wanted a retest, but told me there was pretty high level in my system. I smoke every day so I said don't bother. When my my boss came to pick me up I just told him that it was going to be failed. I said I'm a good worker that just likes to smoke when I'm not working. He didn't go thru with the wc claim and that was the end of it. Only thing was I had to eat the loss of pay until I got back to work again.

If you are worried about it happening at any time then you might consider either always carrying on you or stashing some synthetic urine. You can get it at most head shops and it comes with a heat pack to warm it up.

I used to have one at work stashed somewhere secret in the locker room / bathroom. If I ever had to go to the hospital (that's where they'd send us for screens) then I'd say yeah sure just a minute let me throw my tools in my locker first. Put my tools away, grab my synthetic urine, tape it under my armpit with the heat pack on the outside then walk out and I'm ready to go to the hospital.

If you don't actually need pot for medical reasons then this might be a good time to take an extended break from it until the whole thing is over. A person willing to put their whole way of life at risk just to get high is an addict. If you need it for legit reasons then you're just a patient.

The way it usually works for us is when an employee is hurt on the job and has to go to the hospital. The first thing that happens is the hospital will call the employer at the time of check in and ask if they are filing under workers comp and if they want a drug test performed. I do not think the comp carrier will pay for testing ( at least in our case so we always say NO unless it's obvious the person was impaired at the time of injury). Just my feeling is, if they haven't tested you until a week or two after you were injured there is no way comp could deny paying for treatment. You could always say you started smoking after the injury and were not impaired at the time it happened.
I know alot of large companies treat their employees like fucking cattle and test their body fluids on a regular basis just to appease their insurance company, but there are plenty that don't. I'd never let an insurance company (that I pay out the ass for and am their customer) tell me how to treat employees.
Anyhow, I feel for you man, nobody should have to be terrified over this kind of deal. It's not set in stone but I'll bet you will be fine since you were not tested at the time of injury and initial treatment. There maybe someone even in your office that told them not to test you. Good Luck.

If they haven't had you test by now it makes no sense that they'd have you tested at all at this point.

I got seriously screwed in my WC case. Permanently injured, not enough to live a year on. Good luck to you.
