When I had my wisdom teeth pulled(impacted) they said not to smoke but I did anyway. I made sure to keep the gauze over the extraction sites and pulled very lightly to not dislodge the bloodclot.

I hated getting my wisdom teeth done. I had 4 impacted taken out and the pain killers refused to work. I just kept throwing them up. And they were some nice vicodin too. Tomorrow I have to get some bullshit procedure done too. I know I am going to be smoking before and after they fuck with my teeth. I get sick easily after going to the dentist. It's the smell of my teeth being filed down that makes me gag. The dentist is way too expensive for what it is anyway. Bah!

Good luck with smoking. Let me know what works best since I will be getting a crown on tomorrow :badday:

Daisy you should be ok smoking after getting a crown. The main reason they tell you not to smoke after oral surgery is the suction from smoking can disturb the bloodclot needed to heal. And the chance of bacteria. But, with gauze over the site nice and tight reduces the risk of bacteria.

Yeah, I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and they were all impacted. Was great, got an ass load of pills, and some really sweet demerol/promethesizine ones that were just great. They told me not to smoke because of dry socket, and my friend got it because he is addicted to cigs. All 4 sockets went dry and they had to medicate them and he had some shit he had to smear on them for a week or two, and he said they hurt BIG TIME.

Let's see, a few years back I had 10 teeth pulled. Baby teeth, but still, 10 of them. The day before Thanksgiving too....no kidding. That shit sucked ass.

I love going to the dentist. I get drugged up, have a nice little nap, and usually talk to some very nice women. All my oral surgeons, dentists and orthodontist assistants have been smoking hotties (not the orthodontist himself, he was a short little cool dude). Plus, I always pass out hardcore, and have had the dentist wake me just to make sure I was still alive. I sleep like a rock in those chairs. Plus, background noise helps me to sleep, that and Nitrous.... :woohoo:
Root canal sucked though. 4 visits, 2-3 1/2 hours each. Major complications, and I the drugs wore off while they had the sandpaper cork screw in my socket. OUCH.

Root canals suck so much ass. That in my opinion is the worst kind of dentist visit. I had to go to a endodontist(spelling) for the back 2 molars and boy was that some painful shit. Seems between the gas and anasthetic they still could not get me comfortable. At least with the wisdom teeth you get put to sleep!

Why not just make butter and eat it.......?

im not a real big fan of cookin weed... the only time it was succesful was with a half oz a swag... and these buds cost me 210$ a half z so i don't want to gamble it.... also, eating / vaping isn't the same... well eatin is pretty close, but i hate waiting for a high.. booze and shrooms are the only high i'd wait for to kick in.

you jankeroni, through your nose, ew. keep gauze covering your wounds and suck as lightly as possible on the pipe with your mouth half on it and most of the smoke wont hit the wounds if the gauze is covering them

take dinky hits one at a time, not too concentrated to avoid smoke on the wounds

Yeah, root canal sucked balls. I did not notice the shot had worn off, but she had a cork screw shaped, sand paper-like probe in my tooth socket, getting out the root. She yanked on that thing a couple times and I about shot through the roof. She flipped out, "Oh my goodness why didn't you tell me!!" kinda thing. Got me the biggest damn shot that has ever gone in my mouth and hit me up. Came back in 15 minutes, I was out like a light. Done 20 minutes later, and she asked me if I was ok to drive. Yeeeaaahhh. She laughed at that one. Hell, she see my eyes when I come in, she knows I am stoned anyway.

The biggest thing I hate about going to the dentist, is when they numb your mouth it makes it hard to toke the bong. Drool in it sometimes :pointlaug and forget about a joint.

If I had the money, I would go to the dentist every week just for general checkup and cleaning. I love that dentist clean feel!

I had an abcessed tooth pulled recently(couple months ago). As per usual, I smoked afterwards, but was gentle and careful. I had always been told, this is because of getting a dry socket. Although, I never thought much of getting a dry socket, as most people I know are wimps and want a shitload of painkillers for minor procedures.

The next day, when doing the salt water rinse as they told me, I noticed a piece of bone sticking out. Not being a dentist myself, I have no idea what to think about that one. So I call them up and tell them, they have me come in. Turns out to be a normal thing and the dentist pushes it back in.

Okay....when they extracted the tooth, it didn't hurt. Later that day and the next morning, it didn't hurt. After going to the dentist so he can push the bone back in so it'll heal under the gum or whatever. He caused a dry socket, by messing around in there and pushing the bone here and there for it to heal.

Oh hell......the abcessed tooth hurt, enough to make me go get it extracted. The extraction was sore and following day, just sore. But the dry socket was worse than it all. It hurt so fricking bad, I couldn't believe it. Oh no, a dry socket isn't just a soreness that wimps complain about, it's a legit seriously painful thing. The socket didn't just hurt, the whole side of my head did, not just the side of my face. It hurt like hell from my neck, face, top and back of head - and this pain did not let up for a week plus. What a miserable thing!!

Don't mess about and get a dry socket. I broke some of the rules, but was careful. It was my second extraction and I gently smoke and drank afterwards with no problems. Even though I didn't cause it myself, I still got one and I'll testify for ya - you don't want a dry socket.

If in doubt, wait it out - don't risk getting a dry socket. I have a high tolerance for pain and rarely take any painkillers for anything - but I had absolutely no pain tolerance for a dry socket.
