Too bad the young lady didn't know the golden rule about travelling in Russia - always carry some US cash with you. You can buy you're way out of almost any situation.

Or travel with mobsters ala Bert Kreischer.

They should be selling transit cannabis medical passes at Moscow airport - and have a little safe coffeeshop tucked away somewhere for people to medicate in - if they really want to embrace the true spirit of capitalism -

- besides - I do hope Putin see's reason - and lets the lady free -

Why in the fuck would anybody be traveling internationally with weed in their bag? I don't want to say she was asking for it because I believe that drug laws are an assault on a person's sovereignty in their own body, but she was asking for it. None of this should come as a surprise to her.

I have an very high tolerance for risk. But I wouldn't be flying into any place with weed in my bag. That's just dumb.

I've taken a lot of stuff out of countries and into my own. But that's just because I know our laws.

Putin pardons American-Israeli woman arrested for trafficking marijuana

Russian President Vladimir Putin pardoned a New Jersey-born woman who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for trafficking marijuana.

Naama Issachar, 26, was arrested in April 2019 while traveling from India to Israel. She had a layover in Moscow, where her checked bag was searched and three ounces of cannabis were discovered.

“Guided by the principles of humanity, I pardon Naama Issachar,” read the decree offering the pardon.

Issachar denied the charges and said she never wished to enter the country at all, pointing out that she was only in the airport to change flights and didn’t have access to the bag where the drugs were found.

Putin met with Issachar’s mother, Yaffa, while on a recent trip to Israel. Yaffa Issachar said that Putin had “promised” to release her daughter from prison and lauded him for following through on the move.

“This is the moment I waited for almost a year. Right now, all I want is to hug my daughter Naama,” she said after hearing the news. She also thanked both Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for helping secure Naama Issachar’s release.

How the hell does 9 grams become 3 ounces?

3 ounces are close to 90 grams, maybe a zero went missing somrwhere. Or maybe it was just 9 grams.

The weight is not important here, i wonder if this issue would get any media attention if she was not from israel. She would just stay in prison, most likely.
Double standards,disgusting.

Well Putin was meeting up with his good buddy Bibi - and like two Kings of old - they want to show that they do posses some compassion towards the common people - many of whom are cannabis users - it might be manufactured compassion propagandized for media distribution - but that lady gained her freedom again - over something she shouldn't have lost it for in the first place - but free is free - and one free is better than none -

Of course there's no discussion of why the penalties are so harsh, why they were searching her bags in the first place, how many other people are rotting in the gulag for similar offenses..

In mother Russia weed burn you! Not really that surprised on this. World wide the pot prohibition is gonna fall.

Putin looks good and saves some money on housing someone from out of the country. The heavy irony of alcohol and cigarette abuse in Russia and the low lifespans they have over there.
