Wiring your mogul

If you have a grow like mine, there is no way, you can't get your lamps as close to the ballasts, as to the size of the pre-wired wire.

So, I have to wire these all the time, I figured I would share how it should be done..

A basic prewired mogul socket. I hang my lights vertical, so there is an eye hook there.

The Black(hot), white , and bonding screw are clearly visible

Pull your feed line through, in my case I am using metal shielded cable, in that case I have to use a short stop method.. You will see the red tab.
Strip your black and white about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch, depending, on the size of your connector.

Attach your bond(grnd to the screw), and tighten your connectors. It is always a good idea, to separate your white and black lines. Lots of extra room in this junction box, so I have them nice and spread out.

I'm banking on it being a method of locking the wires in place. You never know when the underpants gnomes will strike. Time will tell ... (insert Jeopardy Theme here)

LOL

Actually it is about keeping the wires from shorting out. Because it is a metal shielded cable.

The strain relief keeps the wires locked down, which you can see...

the cable used is MC (metal clad) as per NEC (national electric code) if you use mc use must use proper mc arc bushings in every connector.. We call em "red heads" in the trade.. They are small red plug like pieces of plastic that just separate the insulated conductors from the metal sheath..
