Wiring My Ballast (not sure how)

Hi All

I have a new ballast here (ETI 250 mh/hps) but I'm not sure how to wire it up.

I have UK style wiring - ie blue, brown and yellow/green wires, but the ballast isnt set up like my others...

I've attached the pics of the connectors and the wiring diagram (apologies for the crap paint skills).. hopefully it makes sense to someone...

cheers
j

As a left ponder, that ballast is unfamiliar but, a little logic should pull us through.

"Lampe" translates to lamp or bulb. "Prise" translates to acquire, capture, take in which sounds like "power in."

Renaming your ports to F1 F2 N1 N2 LR LA then (according to video) Power brown to F1, Power blue to N1. Lamp line blue to LR and Lamp line brown to LA. Both yellow/greens are attached to the metal housing.

Hope this helps.

thanks man. Ill let you know in "approximately" 6 hours and 19 minutes and 4 seconds... approximately... not that I'm counting...

I also had a thought that the cable I'm using is too long... it works fine with my 600, but maybe that unit is able to put out more of a "kick".. I think my cables are 10 feet each... The guy I bought the unit from (who swaers blind it was working very recently) was using 3ft and 6ft (1m to power line and 2m to bulb)...

the ballast makes a buzzing sound but nothing at all happens to the bulb....

No guarantees but, that's a DISTINCT possibility with higher wattages. Especially with weak ignitors. Many with CMH were having exactly this problem with HTG supplied ballasts. Those that shortened the cord or replaced the ignitor ceased to have problems.
