Wiring ballast to socket directly.

Yeah, that's fine to wire it directly...just make sure the cord you use is capable of handling the power that your ballast puts out.

I was just about to cut off the female side of an extension cord when I realized the male side won't fit into the ballast's female cord. The cord on the ballast says its a 10a 125v~, and the extension cord is just a regular house socket, how can I get this to work?

Edit:
Is there some sort of converter that will convert the 10A 125V~ to one that would fit the extension cord?

Alright so I just cut my ballasts cord, now there are 3 cords, black, white, and teal, on my socket there are just 2 screws when I assume u screw the wires in, what ones go where?

So, there are 2 places to put the wires, I put the black/white where you said, but there is no place to put the ground wire. I don't understand what you mean by typically your reflector, this is directly to the socket.

Most reflectors have a place for the ground (green) to go to, including the CoolTube. There should be a third hole on the bottom of the socket mount bracket, if you got the same model as I did.
