I'm installing a Hydrofarm Autopilot High Power HID Controller 8000W (120/240V). The instructions are here but they're not very instructive.
I bought a 60 amp 2-pole fat boy breaker (the kind that takes up 4 times as many slots as the slim breakers). I wired it for 120 (I tested it and it lit two 1000w HPS fine) but I want to rewire it for 240 as soon as I get my ballasts rigged up for 240v - they're currently set up for 120v. I ran 6/2 wire from the breaker/panel to the controller. I ran the black wire to the circuit breaker, the white wire to the bus in the panel where all the other white wires were, and the ground to the bus in the panel where all the other ground wires were.
I think I know what I need to do to switch it over to 240, but I just want to make sure. All I have to do is move the white wire in the panel from the neutral bus, over to the other lug/hole on the circuit breaker, right? And change my ballasts over to 240v of course. Right?
P.S., the site says the controller is 60 amp but the instructions say to use a 50 amp breaker. Should I swap the 60 amp breaker I bought out for a 50?
