i made a 8 light flip flop thanks to kung pow and several other threads. my question is how do i wire the digital timer? i have 2 of the same aube digital timers that DB, Oliver uses on his flip flops. i understand how to wire them to the relays, but how do i wire them to a cord to plug them to the wall? thanks

I'm curious what your flip flop does -
With out seeing it, there should be a hot, a neutral, and a ground. So you may need an extension cord. Are you sure this guy knows what he is doing?

curious about what my flip flop does? it does the same thing that any flip flop does. :bashhead: . i understand that i need an extension cord, but i need to how the timer is wired to the relays and extension cord.

i would imagine you wire half the lights to one side of the relay {normally open} and the other half to the normally closed side of the relay.

this way when the timer is {ON} half the lights are lit up, and when the timer is {off} the other half of the lights are on.

plug the input of this timer into a regular timer would allow you to control light cycle as well as flip flop.

Thanks for the answer NanoScroger, timers can also have normally open and normally closed contacts but I've never needed one, it would be simpler to wire this way.

red = you dont use..... i hope this part is not confusing hahaha :p
blue = coli relay
black = black on power plug

your plug wire has 3 wire's
white = relay coli
black = black on timer
green = ground

your relay has 2 input wire's for the coli....
1 = blue from timer
2 = white from power plug

all the timer dose is brake power from/to one side of the coli in the relay to turn it on/off
