winterizing your rooms

ok. so . how do you guys vent.. and bring air in.. without it being too cold in the winter.. and without sucking out all of your heat from the rest of the house.. as we know when pulling tons of air out.. air gets pulled in.. and in shitty insulated houses. this can cause a very cold winter.. lol

any ideas?

I change things up in the winter. Seal everything up and start using my c02 genny. Recirculate air from one room to another.

Another solution is to have a lung room. A room where cold air is allowed to warm up before it hits it's designated room .

In the winter I remove my intake fans (so they don't ice over) And use an exhaust fan connected to a thermostat ($80 or so at any grow store) to turn the exhaust fan on when the temp reaches above my set point (79f)... And it shuts the fan off once the room has been cooled to a few degrees below the set point.
Easy..
Other tips: use insulated ducting and
Make sure ur either using the exhaust to heat ur house... Or sending it directly outside.. Don't drop it into an un heated portion of the house (or whatever structure)... It will ice up.. As the warm air from the exhaust hits the cold air it drops moisture.. Which freezes up.

if I run my lights sealed.. I just don't wana have my carbon filters exhaust into the house. I just don't need any smell in the house. outside isn't an issue because other people in the area grow.. and we all are medical . but my landlord has no clue.. and I don't need them to smell it in the house lol. outside they know the guy around the corner grows so it stinks lol .

I threw away my glass for my hoods a few years ago... When you have an unlimited supply of ice cold air why bother to air cool ur hoods.. U lose 10-15% of ur light in the glass and that's if they are cleaned often....
Just my two cents...
If I were u (which I'm obviously not) I'd get rid of the glass for ur hoods.. N all the ducting that goes with them.. N just mount a carbon filter and exhaust fan to the ceiling and exhaust right outside.
Mayb in the spring U'll need to air cool ur lights again but Imo with freezing winter temps it's a waste of light.

I live in Maine, and I have the same issues.
How I deal with it is shut down half the amount of outgoing air and plug it up/ redirect exhaust to different part of garage.
The garage is insulated but with no heat to the side wall rooms that I have, the flip flop rooms have been heating themselves for a few yrs now.

Disconnected the furnace and never looked back.
I do have a wood stove for extreme cold ass Maine nights.

im removing the 3x hood glass in flower room, and seeing how that goes. maybe I can cut the a/c off or down a bit.

bought new filters.. thinking of keeping the lights to heat the house.. and exhausting the stink air through the nice new carbon filters

Nice.. Should work well for u for a few runs at least.. I find after the 3rd or 4th run I start to notice my filters lose some effectiveness

Plan your winter config

Unplug air cooled hoods, swap 3000cfm extractor fan for 500cfm fan, add co2 generator, gas heater type.

Coco seems to really suffer, I have no real technical theory or proof, but I suspect that the higher water content {vs soil) gives it a higher thermal conductivity... So am aiming to have all flowers swapped to hydro systems with tropical fish heater thermostats (important, verified by separate thermometer, never trust thermostat's indications, always double check)

Check RH, lower temps need lower RH for unimpeded growth, so adjust things to suit

Learn what screws up in winter, and which ladies don't give a fuck, same as summer, some genetics can handle extremes better than others.
