Winter Vent Questions..

A

AlterEgo860

ok so during the last few months it was cool enough to run clean outside air.. into the grow and kept my room perfect.. dark and light time.. were perfect..

now with lower temps.. its getting too cold during lights off.. and I have never turned the fans off during lights off or on.. usually running ALDAY. ALLNITE.

so I guess im thinking if I can warm up the rest of the basement. and take the air from there.. it would work.. but id like to use my heat from my bulbs to do this.. whats the best way to avoid bringing any smell into the rest of the house but use the lights

1. Closed System for the Bulbs.. and buy another fan for exhausting the air.. with my filter..

2.. buying more filters to hook up all the filters and just use some lights for inside heat .. some exhausting out.. ?

ill take ideas. money is the issue right now.. to many bills not enough cash.. or will a fan speed controller thermostat thingy work fine.. problem is.. i don't like to rebuy shit.. so i was saving for a full environmental controller. light controller. and a flip flop. and 2 more exhaust fans and 3 more carbon filters.. on this harvest.. can anyone recommend a cheap controller that will last....

There's a product called the speedster which is a basic speed controller that helps you
slow down or speed up your fans or carbon scrubber. It works very well for dialing in
a grow room and it was like 40$

Whats your humidity like? Slowing or stopping the fan will spike RH. Ive always needed a dehuey, so venting is a pain, especially when its cold - unless you can take preconditioned air from the house.
Cap makes fan controllers that are temp controlled if a speedster wont do the job.
The best way to add heat during the light cycle is obviously another light. Im air cooling two lights, but I have a bare bulb in the center to dry the air so I dont have to run my dehuey with the lights on. It actually runs more juice than my lights

Just get a fan controlled like crazy mentions, you can get one off amazon for like $20. I use one and manually adjust it thru out the day to keep temps around 75-78

If you want a fancy speed controller, one with a thermostat to react to low temps, try out a
Titan Controls Mercury 4.

It takes some work because temperatures swing so much. Try running your lights at night to take advantage of the higher day temps.
