Nice Durdy
Whats your indoor setup for vegging? How low the winter temps drop in your area?

Peace

They started off under a 125w CFL (you can see those pics in the link in my signiture) for about a month (including rooting time 7 days or so) after that i popped the 250w MH in their and they really started going! Their in 3 gallon containers and will be transplanted to 10 gallons once their in the greenhouse. This is actually my first winter in the area I've been tracking the temps for the last week with highs of 78 and lows of 40, I'm pretty sure it hangs around there for the next couple months occasionally getting close to freezing in the wee hours of the morning. So we'll see how this winter one turns out! :dance013:

Looking great D. What's your latitude if you don't mind me asking?

I have a small winter greenhouse project going right now as well. The temps where I live are fluctuating a lot these days, so my greenhouse sees everything from 46 to 83 F, but I don't expect it to drop below 32, especially in the GH. I started them at the end of August, and they're well into flowering now, didn't get that much veg time. They're just in small pots, no artificial lighting since seed, and I keep them on styrofoam for some night time insulation.

Good luck during the move. I'm interested in seeing how everything goes.
cheers

Stillgamblin - When I had them under the 125w CFL there was no need for heat as the ambient end of summer temps were ridiculous. But now that they're under the 250w MH There is no supplemental heating, they don't seem to mind, it gets down to about 50 degrees F in the tent

KUBAR - Yea my temps are vary similar to yours, I'm at 34 degrees north. It doesn't tend to get below freezing here all that often but it happens. I was thinking about putting some 2x4 s down to keep them off the ground and get air circulating all around the pot. I'm just waiting to take clones and have the construction guys finish the deck then it's time to begin the winter adventure! Do you have any winter greenhouse tips? this is my first late season run!

Not sure, this is the first time I'm doing a winter greenhouse so I'll be able to answer that in about 2 1/2 months haha

im hoping for a higher yield and letting the roots get a bit stronger to fight off the cooler temps and the the strees it will go through. the plant will go straight into flowering once its outside so i want to make sure if they do turn out ok that i have enough product to last me the winter thats also why im lettin go til they r 4 ft. keep us posted on how urs is goin

This is my first late season run as well, so I'm right there with ya. I'll share any experiences with you as I go. I'm not doing a journal or anything, as its purely experimental.

As for tips, all I can suggest is to watch humidity levels during the day because it will get much colder in there at night. Definitely raise them up, to both protect from the cold ground and air drainage, and also the upper part of the greenhouse will be warmer for longer. You can even raise the plants more than normal. As I mentioned before, I also put mine on styrofoam to keep some warmth in the pots after the air cools down.
cheers

When you said it was 42 degrees was that in the greenhouse or outside? or what was the missing temp?

42 was the low in the greenhouse at night time about a month ago. More recently it has been a 25 degree low, which the plants did not respond well to. Hahaha I'm kinda ashamed of how the ladies are looking, not flowering well at all. The temps have consistently been below freezing at night time, then jump to the high 60s during the day. I believe the switch from 24 hours of light straight to about 3 hours of direct sunlight didn't do them any good either. I'll post some pictures soon so hopefully others can learn from the shame that is my winter greenhouse :frown:

On the brighter side things are looking good indoors! I have 12 MR.Nice Guys Vegging, as well as a Bubblegum, 2 Miami Trash, and 2 The Fat Man. Cuts of J1, Substance D, Bubblegum, and Cotton Candy are also starting to take root! :dance013:

Sorry it's been so long. More or less the plants are not looking happy and I've been to ashamed to show any photos hahaha. So lets start off with my theories as to why the ladies are not looking so hot.

1)They went from 24 hours of light to about 3 hours direct
light.

2)They were transplanted that same day from 3 gal to 10 gal

3)A day after they went outside the temps dropped to 25
degrees Fahrenheit at night for about a week

4)Temperatures have been fluxing about 25 degrees a day

They don't look as bad as they did about a week ago, many of the flower sites looked totally dead and now they look like they're growing again!

So long story short I believe wierd temperatures and inadequate lighting levels have seriously stunted my wintercrop ): oh well lots of stuff learned!
