Window ac

Hoping someone can help me with a issue. I'm looking for a new window ac unit that doesn't allow light in. Seems like all the new one's have styrafoam on the inside for intake or exhaust. I realize I can try to pant with black plastic paint or build a box around the unit on the outside. Ideally I just want to buy a unit for plug and play. Knowledge is appreciated.
Thanks

Check out the Friedrich window units. I'm pretty sure they don't use styrofoam. I don't know if they leak light. I have a Friedrich Thru the Wall unit that doesn't leak light. Friedrich is one of the highest quality [longest lasting] brands on the market. Price shop starting at Amazon. Good luck. -granger

the old dorms on my campus all run Friedrich units.... probably 100+ of them.
apparently they are historic and could not easily be retrofitted to chill water.

id say that says something about their reliability considering thats probably 30,000 bucks worth of window shakers.
