I heard willow tree braches can help with cloning.Does anyone no how to use them? Thanks PS i would like to do a comparision'see if they root faster or better.
I'm not sure what you mean but cuts don't normally need much help rooting, people need help understanding what they need lol.How does a willow branch help a cut to root?
Actually you are not far off.. I once read that the bark of a Birch ( i think) will help in rooting. The bark has a natural rooting stimulant in it . However if it were a willow tree it Wouldn't surprise me. I willow tree can be easily propagated by simply sticking a soft branch into the ground. ill do a Google , and see what i can find to add to this .
Hi sweetie, What you do is take a willow branch, cut it into inch long chunks and put the chunks in water. Willow is normally chock full of rooting hormones. When it is injured, the willow goes into high gear producing rooting hormones- it's a survival thing. The rooting hormone "bleeds" into the water. After a day of soaking, strain out the willow chunks and use the water for cloning. It's an old hippie trick- Granny
I heard the willabark is good for the arthuritis too pops,Olivia's gives my cuts a spankin. Her gel is the ultimate for both lubrication and propagation.
Yes the willow has natural rooting hormones, seems that everyone knows alittle something about this natural rooting trick. it's easier to buy the shit at walmart.
what storm crow said, willow trees are loaded with auxins so just take a very small branch and chop it up as recommended above, let it soak in seaparte water then strain out or just use pieces in a bubble cloner
humidity temperature and moist medium is all you need...in other words proper conditions and they will root...i do not use clone gel...that is really interesting though..im going to do some reading on that...peace
