so how many other people out there have the real deal williams wonder? I am lucky enough to count myself among the bunch, and was curious what other people have found when attempting to breed this WONDERFUL plant. I know that rez has been distributing f2 seeds, but i have not seen any reports on the WILLIAMS WONDER pheno...everyone seems to find the NYCD pheno in his crosses...My willie´s is indica dominant, takes about 60 days to finish and has the most distinctive odor of any plant i have ever tried. I know this plant circulates via clone on the west coast (pt´s, etc) and I am currently in my first generation of propagation. If you have smoked this stuff you know how valuable a stable willies variety would be. so...who else has this plant? do you find it as usefull as I do? also does anyone have any information on the genetic heritage of this plant? it smells unreal...

I didn't make any William's Wonder "f2s"
I am,however,in the process of doing the second William's Wonder BX,and the first BX ran about 80% William's Wonder phenos,in taste/smell./high/finish time.
The NYCD was only visible in about 30% of the initial outcross, and that hybrid,"Willie D",is very, very highly regarded by many growers and smokers alike.
The William's Wonder Clone that I own is nearly twenty years old,
and it finishes easily in 60-65 days, depending on the method it's being grown by....
When I'm done the third backcrosds,it'll be time for the inbreeding to start, then it'll be "William's Wonder,IBL" and it'll make for some SUH-WEET f1 hybrids that anyone'll be able to make....and the seeds will, when I'm done, breed stable and true.

That's what I'm doing with William's Wonder and THE New York City Sour Diesel Clone, respectively, and by the end of the projects, anyone that can order seeds will be able to grow either of the above.

Original Vermont Strawberry Cough, already an IBL,should be available through us before Christmas.

Cheers!

**I have access to shitloads of heirloom clones, this is only the tip of the iceberg :)

I recieved my willies via clone as well, and am creating my own f2.s The first generation was pollinated with an exceptional haze dominant clone which exhibits slight hermie tendencies around day 50 or so , about a 70 day finish time on the haze. this cross was unintentional. Thanks for replying rez, it seems as though you might have a more sativa dominate willies, from your pictures and finish time results..mine finishes in 56-60 days and has a more indica characteristic "knobby" colas, with large calyxes..I have heard that the willies is related to a very homogenous afghani which would not flower under an 18-6 light schedule, indicative of a more "pure" indica, uncontaminated by reuderalis and nepalise sativas. Do you have any guesses on the heritage? I have heard it might be a 4way (afghani-durban x basic5-?) is my best guess..for this reason I thought it might be more difficult to isolate the willies flavor...i will be breeding for potency, flavor and smoothness (these are the traits i feel set the willies apart, esp. the smoothness.....another hit is just toooo tempting..)...anyway my next version will be crossed with a landrace oaxacan sativa in an attempt to increase the yeild (imagine a foot long willies cola!)....on another note, has anyone found a real willies pheno from sag's wonderberry (berry dom i think) or kc's willie jack? .. i presume they both had access to original sssc seed stock or a clone....WILLIES FOR EVERYONE!

You cannot "f2" a clone without a male of the same heritage.
You outcrossed to your Haze male,effectively creating a polyhybrid,definately not a William's Wonder f1.
You diluted the William's % with the Haze,if you want a higher % William's Wonder, then BX the Haze/Willies cross you made BACKWARDS to your William's clone,THAT will increase the % of William's genes in the next round of seed.
I' currently about two weeks from flowering the 1st BX into a second BX,and a third's scheduled immediately afterwards.
Then,some selective inbreeding and I'll have William's Wonder,stable and gooey,available as a true-breeding inbred line,
more 'stable' than the SSSC ever bothered to make it.\
That's my goal and I'm not too far off.
The same goes for Sour Diesel,am on the 3rd BX of that, next is inbreeding her,as well.

Gotta' run,keep me posted on the results of a haze/wms cross,sounds interesting,and will be VERY variable,but I'll be t you'll have fun.
Btw,if stabilisation's your goal,pick a better outcross than haze.
Use an indica-dom or a favorite male who's traits you know well,
stick w like-traited plants.

Cheers!

My William's Wonder Clone is from SSSC seedstock, and is nearing twenty years old....I got it from AFOM who's personally held it almost the entire time.
The finish time on the Original Clone is approximately 60 days in soil, about 10% quicker in hydro, and yields extraordinarilly well.
The William's Wonder BX#1 finishes in 60-63 days-this has been my personal experience.
