Will This Stress Out My Inline Fan?

picture.php

I have the fan in a closet that is going to be sealed off, and I don't want any light escaping through the exhaust duct. So, I tried to have at least 2 turns in the ducting.

The intake side is super short and jams up really close to the wall. Will having it this close to the wall tax the fan motor by making it have to run harder?

Also, since all the ducting is turning, will this create any problems with the fan?

Dont think the fan will get hurt.On another flip make sure the housing isnt touching the wall. This will make the fan sound very loud.Turns in the ducting do slow things down.

Little if any light will go thru a centrifugal fan. Shouldn't take much. Spray painting the inside of the duct flat black helps. Good luck. -granger

Cool man, I appreciate the reply. None of the fan housing is touching any wall, but it is touching the floro hood. Not too worried about it though because the fan is actually pretty quiet.

That's definitely good to know. Didn't wanna take any chances with light leakin out to the flower room.

And good call on the spray painting, I completely forgot about that. Might have to do that next time, but hoping this is good to go as is?

Shroom filters stop light pretty well.

That configuration is no problem for a centrifugal blower such as yours.

what people dont get is.. some of the fans.. do make alot of noise.. if there not setup right.. like using bungee cords will cut down on the fans vibration.. making it harder to hear the FAN outside of your house.. or inside the house.. but outside the grow.. i thought the same thing.. BIG DEAL.. but if u go outside the house.. were ur grow is.. if u can hear it.. change it.. if u cant. ur ok.
