will the police act on a "tip"?

This is very hypothetical (hopefully), If anyone could give me some advice I would appericate it.

I am VERY paranoid that my sister will at some point call the cops on me for growing weed. Three years ago she was a smoker, but now she is a lawyer and is on her high horse about the "law" and I think she sees anyone who breaks the law as creating work for her or something.

I concocted a huge coverup that I had quit growing (i grow only a few plants for personal use), and I think she believes me. But she basically hates me at this point, partly because I think she feels superior to my "alternative" lifestyle, and I wonder what she'll do if she knows I am growing. We are basically without communication at this point. One thing I know for sure she would never identify herself if she did call the cops because my mom would never ever forgive her for doing that to me.

I am debating quitting, but it hard when I think of how much i love the craft and the spiritual beauty that doing this brings me. Do cops automatically investigate if they get an anonomyous tip?

They can look around the house, but that won't be enough for a warrant unless she gives her name. If you want my advice, get another place to grow at. Then again, a few plants might not mean all that much in your state. Lawyers aren't cheap, though, and having a record sucks. How about guerilla growing?

Alternatively, tell her you're considering growing again, and see what she says about it. Ask her if she'd report you if you were, even though you're not.

No don't quit. If you aren't strapped down, move, and don't tell her. Anyone who would do this to you, well I would never talk to them again. That is a pretty fucked up thing to do, and girls are the type to do that... I would tell her that until she comes the fuck back down to earth and wake the fuck up, your not talking to her again. Just my opinion maybe too harsh.

The cops can come and look around, but that sure isn't anything. If they see or suspect ANYTHING your screwed. I know it would be hard to get this place cleaned of all growing/smoking related items. And they look good and hard, and know exactly what they are looking for too. A simple seed on the ground can screw you.

I would store some grow equip in her attic without her knowing. And if she snitched I would say how she was a partner and was mad at money issues and snitched. I would then say how she bought equipment and stored it in her attic. "My sister is the money behind everything" that would teach her.

Yes, they will act on a tip. But if they can't find any kind of proof that you are growing could be enough to for them to get a warrent to surch your place. Make sure you arn't tossing anything out in your trash, they don't need a warrent to pull your trash, just the tip off from some one will due.

Like others have said, getting her on a retainer i think could be a good idea

That's fucked up. I know DA's and prosecutors who wouldn't turn in their dope-growing, law-breaking friends and acquaintances on general principle. In my experience, it's the lawyers who have the least respect for the law out of everybody else. They realize how arbitrarily the lines are drawn, how irrelevant the rules really are; it's not what you know but what you can prove, and Law and Justice have VERY LITTLE to do with morality and decency and everything to do with efficiency.

I'm glad my sister isn't as bad as yours is, that's for sure. My family treats the weed as though it were legal and 100% OK even though it's not legal and it is 100% OK. They're good people, thank God.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I feel a hell of a lot better about the situation. I know she still has a shit load of glass from her smoking days. She may still have some Thaitanic I used to gift to her. I know she's sworn it off now, so she may have disposed of it. Tragedy.

I will attempt the retainer plan. but right now she is not talking to me. She is "taking a break" from me because I am apparently such a shitty sister. so no retainer until she forgives me for not kissing her ass 24 hours a day.

If there was one thing i could do ove in my life it would be to tell no one about my grow. no one.

here's a little insight to my sister: my friend got a dui at a checkpoint. he was pulled from the car, not asked if he wanted to do a breathlizer, etc. so he is planning on pleading not guilty. she gets pissed and says, it's really wrong to waste the court's money to have a trial for that. you should just plead guilty. nice huh?

Gee I'm in love..Has your sister seen your grow?That is the first thing any cop would ask any informer.If they say they have seen it and sign an afterdavit to that effect,you have problems.If anyone informs on someone and the answer is no to that question,I wouldnt worry too much.The most they would do is a visual and possible trash search.
