WILL RAIN WASH OFF TRICH'S?

:tiphat:howdy folks,my names chihuahua farmer and i am a pathetic newbie with a lame question(sorry and thank you)
i have two a.t.f. plants about two weeks out from harvest,(based on trich color)they are outdoor in an open-top
greenhouse and we have a bit of rain coming in the next
few days. will the rain "wash off" the trichs?(its cool if you
laugh now) thank you to anybody that can help me
this is my first grow, i vegged them indoors using window
light and extended the light period to 18 hours using a 4 tube t5 light then i put them out when the day was about 12 hours (april 10 or so) as the day is getting longer ive been putting them under the house(very dark but well ventilated)
so they get their 12 hrs of "beauty sleep",seems to be working as they are quite beautiful to me. i would really hate to blow it now. :thank you:

Rain won't wash of the trich's, that's just silly. But rain can cause the buds to mold, particularly towards the end, when the buds get dense and it stops growing. Good air flow helps prevent this from happening.

Will rain wash off the trich's? Damn straight, you gotta put little umberellas over 'em. That's what they do in far off places like Mexico, China, India, Northern California...

No way as cannabis is an outdoor weed and your trichomes are water proof.

rain probally not but if it gets below 5c id expect to see tric damage, A hail storm like i had early this year id give a big yes. I had nearly all leaves ripped off 7 to 10foot plants, buds snapping stems under added weight and buds full of ice, coco and dust. The plants that fell over sat in a running pool of ice coco and water for an hour before i realised the damage was done.

a % of trics where damaged but the bigger issue was the coir in the cobs and few leaves to finish flowering... only good for hash now but 80% was a seed crop that i will be able to salvage once i get the courage to look inside that box in comming months..:ying:

It's believed and published in quite a few books, that the THC "trichs" produced by the plant, are actually to protect the buds/flowers from the elements.

No bro, I am no scientist to speak with accurate stats, but however if there should be a SMALL amount of chrystals falling off during rain time, it wouldnt be something that you would notice...

We always cover our outdoor plants....the rain is not good for them. They can handle cold but not wet. just my cpl of pennies :)

thanks,garden info.

thanks,garden info.

thanks again to everybody:tiphat: i was under the impression that the trichs(resin)are a product of the plants reproductive process(sticky trichs catch pollen) i am sure they are meant to protect the plants as stated in previous
post by other members. it wasn't that hard to get a spring harvest, although i must admit that i stumbled into it by accident, next year i'll be ready with my 10 county allowed
medical plants(i hope to have pics posted soon)right now the garden consist of the following; 2 atf(the rain threatened
ones), 1 blue-dot,1 blueberry trainwreck,1 headband,2 dark star,5 crunchberry haze and 5 white widow seedlings(bagseed) the cuttings are about 6 weeks old and range
from 6 in. to almost 3 feet(the blue-dot and blueberry trainwreck are going crazy! i will soon try cloning these)
i am also hoping to isolate 1 or 2 white widow males so i can
collect pollen and try some cross-breeding(i've been told that you can manually pollinate a few branches of buds on a plant to make seeds,is this true?any comments would be great) thanks again everybody i wish you all a great
grow season :thank you: P.S. WILL SPRING EVER BE HERE?!! rain and cold is getting old!!!
