It's been 15 weeks now and it's still covered in white pistils, the bud is dense and hard as hell and I chopped her sisters a few weeks back, it seems everytime I go in more of the buds are covered in white hairs. I dunno what to do, chop her or leave her. What would you do she's been flushed for 5 weeks now

Cut your day time hours to 10 or 11, 13 or 14 dark. Also a temp drop can signal them to finish. Sometimes we need to emulate nature more to get sativa to finish right indoors.
She has been chopped today, it's very deceiving to the eye as it looks like it's covered in white hairs, but it's only the very outside of the bud that has white hairs. 95% of it is all proper. I don't have a loupe that's strong enough to see trichs, it was stolen.
Smells like wd40 mixed with lemon. I like to leave my herb till all the hairs are dead, no matter what the trichs say, as only when a calyx is dead does it reach it's full potential with resin production. I want every calyx to be full of resin and really swollen. Since I've done this my herb has been so much stronger. Obviously it bit me in the arse this time

Leaving them till every calyx is finished can leave you with a less euphoric high on the long flowering gears .
Better to make a judgement on overall ripeness . Waiting till those last few calyxes Finish while the the rest of the plant is getting over ripe is not a good compromise .
A loupe is a very helpful tool for making decisions on when to harvest .

I understand, I've spent many moons trying them at different stages, sometimes through choice, sometimes not. I find if I take these long sativas to early I get paranoid as hell when I smoke them, so I try and wait for as long as humanly possible. Same with indicas. After all the whole point of indica is the mong isn't it, so it's worth leaving them. I've never left a bud past it's prime I don't think. I've smoked plants that were left in a greenhouse for a whole year over winter that knocked my socks off. Would that be because it died through lack of water and dried before it grew past it's prime? What are the signs? I think if your hunting a happy high you will defiantly take it past it's prime for sure. It's a interesting topic how long can you flower a plant before it turns shit?
