Will my babies recover from chemical war-fare?

Little backstory:

While I was doing my daily maintenance on my plants, my roommate thought it would be a great idea to :joint:. In my enlightened state, I ended up grabbing the wrong spray bottle of kitchen cleaner instead of my EWC/molasses bottle and gave my plants a dose of bleach basically. I tried spraying them down and flushing with fresh water but I guess the damage was done.

The leaves that got hit from the kitchen cleaner burned off within a few days, however new growth still occurred. I was about a week or two away from going into flowering so I figured I just delayed that process a few weeks now. Are my babies showing signs of recovery?

Grow info
How long has this problem been going on?
15 days since the abuse
What STRAIN are you growing?
Nirvanna's I.C.E
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
Seed
What is the age of your plants?
About 8 weeks
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
6 weeks
How Tall are the plants?
10-12 inches
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
Vegetative
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
Topped the plants; planning on SCROG but lost lots of fan leaves
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
1 plant per 2.5L pot. Planning on transplanting to 4gal pots when I sex.
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
Organic soil mix using LC's Mix #1 with Bongaloid's guano mix for food
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
Home-made EWC tea using the recipes from the organics forum.
How often are you feeding?
Nutrients are all contained in the soil
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
Not checking pH since organics should buffer pH
How often are you watering?
I just check when the top soil layer is dry, then I water. Averages about every other day
What size bulb are you using?
8x23watt CFL's
What is the distance to the canopy?
6 inches
What is the canopy temperature?
27C
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Just one circular honeywell fan on top of my rubbermaid pulling air through a home-made carbon scrubber. I have a negative pressure system and my fan is on the same timer with my lights so I don't have to listen to a fan in my closet when I'm sleeping.
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
No
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
I water and then check the top soil layer when it dries
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
RO water from one of those water dispensing machines
Are plant's infected with pest's?
I have some fruit flies that came with my Vermiblend compost.

I ended up topping them about 7 days after the event. The tops were dark green and healthy still and I wanted to use the tops as a cutting to clone with so I could sex the plants that way. The new growth from the topping is the normal growth but the dark green leaves haven't returned. This is what my babies look like now:

My last question is whether or not these guys will recover and has the bleach caused further problems besides burning off my fan leaves. I'm just waiting for healthy fan leaves to return before I start flowering.

Thanks guys!

So THAT'S what happens when you spray your plants with bleach!

Ouch! They basically just got a huge chlorine and...sodium? Bleach is Sodium Chloride, yeah? Anyways, they should recover, it'll just take a minute for that shit to work it's way out. I would say turn them upside down anddrench them in some soapy water for a 1/2 hour if you could, but it would be tricky. A spray might actually be harmful, since it might re-foliar them with any residues left on the leaves. It might work if you really hosed them down so you were sure you really washed everything off the leaves, and or just spray enough that it doesn't run off so much. You could try it with one plant to see how it responds. Give it a few days after the spray before deciding to try it on the rest of them.

The newer leaves don't look as bad as the fan leaves, so if that's the new growth, I'd say they'll be good as new in a 2 weeks or so.

You stressed them out too, so less light and heat then normal (72-75) will make life easier for them to recover.

Good Luck!

You should remove those lower dead leave's,
1st ..so the plants not wasting energy on them
2nd...the plant will still be trying to feed on the foilor spray. Bleach/or ferts

Yeah instaed of washing the leaves, if you can see the dry residues left, I would trim up the plant nicely in the following day or two, not all at once.

It reminds me of a time when I went outside to care for my veggie garden patch and :joint:

Well, I finished up but didnt put the potted veggies away just yet (cucumbers and peppers). I needed to mow the lawn and the pots were in sunlight (usually they only get sunlight until 4pm, then its shade.. but I moved them) so I left them there for some extra light today.
As I vented the gas can, gas spurted out the spout all over my cucs and peppers.. at least a cup of gasoline was sprayed over them!!!!

I imidiatly hosed them down but you could see dark green blotches on the light green leaves/stems. The pepper fruits were unharmed even though they got splashed with gas!!!! the cucs were done though :(

It might be me but those plants look like they were in trouble before the bleach. Were they healthy dark green before or were they lighter/lime green with the tipburn and edgeburn? Some of that damage looks old.

I'd say you are overfeeding for the low amount of light provided and for the small size of those plants.

If I were you Id transplant those little ladies into a good soil mix and give them a very light balanced nute regimine until they recover...

The soil probably has bleach soaked in it from run-off. When transplanting I would gently poke lose any of that soil and transplant into the new soil mix asap.

They were a healthy dark green before this fiasco started. However I did notice the lower leaves starting to turn lighter green. For the amount of limited growspace, do you think growbags would work for a bigger pot size? I'm not sure how I was burning the plants since I let my soil cook for over two weeks.

My goal was to let the plants get taller so I could top them and prep them for a SCROG, could the plants have gotten rootbound?
