Coming soon to a neighborhood near you: Medical Marijuana shops
Seriously folks, I typed that just as printed in the Wildomar, California Gazette.
It was a case of the mayor getting schooled by the Town Council voting for our side. Voted 4-1, Mayor Moore the only dissenting vote, to move forward to draft an ordinance allowing the dispensing of medical marijuana in the city.
Original zoning code states "In no event, howsoever, shall a medical dispensary as described in this section be considered a permitted or conditionally permitted use in ANY zone classification...."
What got this going? A man I have not yet met, William Sump, owner of Wildomar Patients Compassionate Group.
As the yarn is spun: he found a location, contacted the landlord, and opened a dispensary. The opening was shortly after Mr. Sump walked into City Hall and informed them he would be opening a medical marijuana and left.
He shut down when the business was issued a cease & desist letter March 9, 2010, but is seeking to reopen his establishment in Wildomar.
GREAT JOB William Sump!!! Thank you.
