to me all eras before the internet sucked, but maybe thats because I was borne a few years shy of being in generation I.

Well, I don't really remember the 70's.:bongsmi:

But after barely surviving the 80's, nothing was as horrible as watching people wear parachute pants, jackets with 357 zippers, Flock Of Seagulls hairdo's, and those smurfs!!! Fuck I hated smurfs, well except Smurfette, I still want to do her for some reason.

Next thing you know ,you guys will start bitching about the canary yellow leisure suits we wore back then. Damn, I was already in my late 20's when the 70's started.

At least, you couldn't see the first 8" of our underwear back then. We understood that it was to be worn under our clothes, not as a fashion accessory.

Pops ... Just between us ... Did you sport the turtle neck and the zip up half boots with that Canary Yellow Suit or a button up with the top few loose (to show off your chest rug) and wing tips ?

My grandfather used to have a store in downtown LA selling that shit all throughout the 70's. funny thing about it is when he closed down his store over 20 years ago he took all the goofy clothes and stored them in his shed where they remain today with original tags and everything

gotta have love for elders

I miss my ol' eight track player but along came them state of the art cassette player/recorders and I had to upgrade so I could record my vinyl albums onto cassettes and listen to them in the car and stuff, aah such high technology... we had it all... ;) :)

Mood rings, lava lamps, Rubik's cube, Pong, smiley face stickers, and pet rocks all captured the imagination of people during this decade.
Streaking nude through very public places was a fad for a while. :)

The fashion influence of Sixties hippies was mainstreamed in the Seventies, as men sported shoulder length hair and non-traditional clothing became the rage, including bellbottom pants, hip huggers, colorful patches, hot pants, platform shoes, earth shoes, clogs, T-shirts, and gypsy dresses.
Knits and denims were the fabrics of choice.

And then came Disco Music and Discothèque's came along...
Leisure suits for men became commonplace, and women were fashionable in most everything from ankle-length dresses to hot pants and micro-miniskirts.
While there were a number of well-known mid-1970s disco performers, such as Donna Summer, Barry White, The Bee Gees, the Village People and ABBA, disco "...was primarily a producer's medium, since they created the tracks and wrote the songs."
Many non-disco artists recorded disco songs at the height of disco's popularity, and films such as Saturday Night Fever and Thank God It's Friday contributed to disco's rise in mainstream popularity.
While disco music declined in popularity in the early 1980s, it was an important influence on the development of the 1980s and 1990s electric dance music genres of house and techno.

Clarks Dessert boots and safari jackets. and those damn 8 tracks which would double track unless you stuck a matchbook under the tape.. my friend had a car with reverb which we thought was cool. One thing though, alot easier to have sex in cars back then they were so big.. Loved my 65 pontiac catalina.

Dan,I had a '59 Chrysler New yorker that 2 couples could have group sex in the back seat and everybody had plenty of room. Don't try that with todays cars!
