Why not get the iponic 600?

alright so im getting into using co2 and have started to look at controllers/regulators trying to put together a system in my head. im kinda just seeking input on my options here. on one hand i can get the bare essentials for co2 control or get an iponic and control everything off one interface, lights, fan, ac, CO2... i have a cool idea to set up solenoid on my water pipe that goes to a blumat based res for watering but its not a full idea yet.

so for an accurate ppm based controller your talking $300 (likely the CAP ppm3)
regulator $50
Tank $125
so $475 roundabout

iponic $1000
tank.. same
regulator same

$1125 for full system integration. and a controller that will do everything ill ever need even if i built my dream grow.

its almost 3 times as much, and i wouldnt be able to purchase it for this run like i was hoping. but seeing how much simple CO2 control will cost its unlikely i could get it before this runs over anyway. so i might as well just save up and get the top dog controller right.

also is the iponic reliable? or is it junk?

so what would you do?

There's a cheap co2 setup on eBay. It's under $300 with controller and reg. keeps ppms between 600-1000ppm I don't have one but was looking as a cheap setup.
I really want the iponic. If you have the $$ go big.

well im sortve particular when it comes to controllers. i want total control.. not 600-1000 or the ones that turn on at 1400. i also want one that utilizes the fuzzy logic control so it slows down as it gets close to a set ppm.

i dont have the money right now to go big. but in a world where i round to the nearest its 500 for simple control or 1000 for insane control of everything. i think i know what ill end up doing just dont know how soon.

I think they look awesome, they are twice as much as a Sentinel CHHC-4, but the network connectivity and logging features make it worth it IMO. Not to mention it actually looks like it was designed in the 21st century.

its sexy, by controller standards and very user friendly.. ive watched like every video of people using them setting up and stuff, all seems very straight forward. the network module is another hundred or two. but the part where you can control with your phone is fucking amazing, and terrifying. idk if i would be comfortable doing that.

check out my boy landscapeescape's thread.......talks alot about the IPONIC. Thing is dope...............remote access/control of your entire garden. Pay to play.

Yeah ill chime in on the iponic unit I've got one and it really blows the Sentinel out of the water. If you don't have equipment that can handle your atmospheric conditions though, the money might be better spent first getting that in line. You might also want to read up here:

As cocogroguy said, LandscapeEscape has this unit configure like a boss. He is using it as a controller to run his central air. ! Ive also posted a few comments regarding their customer service.

Long story short unit can be considered expensive but its a really cheep package for the features which will give you a lot of flexibility for expansion...

The network connectivity is just the tip of the iceberg....
