Why is my Arcata cut flowering under 18/6-?

Thats what I want to know... I've trimmed her back, root trim ect... and she is under one side of 240w of 4ft. tube floro's... I've never been a regular clone keeper... only in the past year or so... maybe the bulbs need re-placing- what I'm gonna do is try and go 20-4... snap her out of it, maybe... if not 24/7... I think gradually increasing the light would be more natch... anyone ever had this happen-??? ... peace. F1.

are you sure that it's getting all that light? check your timers and stuff???

the arcata cut's gonna flower at 15 hrs light , it may flower anywhere between 15 and16 hrs i suppose... but 15 for sure... i've played with her a bit in different light cycles.

otherwise there's gotta be some serious stress goin on there , because she should be fine at 18/6 fo sho.

not noticing anything from the other mothers?

mine's at 18/6 now and doin fine, how old is this mother you keep? maybe time to re-clone and re-mother?

after mother are kept for awhile,they sometime seem to get a mind of their own,and flowering is usually one of the first signs she's not happy.like thcaeser said, make sure you've got plenty of light.I try and keep mine at least at 18 hours;but i like to do 20 and I can keep mothers for over a year without much problem

I've have grown this strain plenty. I've found that it keeps better to keep her under 24 hours of light. If my old gallery was around i'd post some pictures. Mine would start to flower and produce single blade leafs. Don't know if yours is doing this, but that's what mine did. I keep my mothers under normal shop lights with mixed cool and warm tubes. What i did to correct this problem was add another shop light and replace all bulbs with new ones. Didn't have any problems after that. Don't have that mother anymore, but have her in a safe place to grow again later on down the road. Good luck and feel free to ask any question.

funny you say that GDW , because i've noticed that there was little to no growth from clone under 24 hrs, and the reason i was lowering my light cycle was actually to try and get her to veg out enough for me to clone from again. I figured i was depriving her of a dark cycle and it was causing slow growth.... that's how i figured out that she'll flower at 15 hrs. along with a lot of other strains heheh. even funnier yet is that i'm pretty sure that it came from one of your cuttings. perhaps it's the environment .... i've noticed from another thread here that she'll take on quite a plethora of different looks depending on how you keep her, I think she might just have a mind of her own....

I've always kept my mothers in hydro, DWC, and now they're kept in a small ebb/flow table so i've not really ever had to deal with root training and those types of issues so i can't say how that could affect her.

I had lots of problems with my TW lady. she seems to be doing real well now . I grew her out once mid 2004 and it took me until around june of this year to get her back on track again. inbetween that first run and the last 2 there were a lot of half assed semi failures to get her to do her thing proper, between me and a few other people.


She's a tough bitch tho, you'll get er done.

Well, if she's a cut from me. The best way i kept her is this way. I kep her in one gallon pots from Wal-mart. She was in the BOG mixture soil. Perlite,Blood,Bone,wal-mart soil mix. I would water ever two day with water and add PBP to every other gallon of water. Used the Grow Nutz, Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag. I would watch the leaf tips for any leaf tip burn. I adjusted the watering times as i would check the weight of the soil in the pots. Yes, i would do the old lift the pot up method and it worked great. I kept them under 24 hr. light period. I used two four foot normal shop light with cool and warm bulbs and all my mothers seem to love them. I'll try to dig up a picture if i can. If i might ask, PM me the source of the cut and i'll let you know if it's from me or not. If you don't want to give up the source. I totally understand also. That's pretty much it and she never gave me any problems after adding another light. I hope this helps some. She was a very easy plant for me to grow and i know for sure she is the real deal. Before Dr.J passed away. He gave her a look and told me that it was the same cut as his. God rest his soul. He was the TW GOD. Well, take care and i'm her to help.

Ok i'm in a picture posting mode tonight. Here is the mix i used for all my mother. The soil is a organic from wal-mart in place of the soil BOG uses in his mix. I try to stay 100% organic mix if i can.

I have grown the arcata cut indoors for a while now. I have Both a clone under 24/0 under a metal halide and some on 18/6 under a hps. I have had no problems with the clones autoflowering under either light sceduale. deffinitly agree with GDW that i think she veg better under 24/0 and the more light the better. personally i found her one of the easier plants to work with, and havent had any trouble cloning her. She yeild good in hydro but is soil i havent had the best of yeilds but far better quality. WHen it comes to smoking time she is one of my all time favorites and i seem to smoke her more than anything else. Here are some pics i have of a cut going outside now. Good luck revegging that mother F1, I'm sure she'll be alright. do like these guys say and go 24 on her ass, im sure both have been running her a lot longer than i have. I like to learn the hard way I guess.

I've never tried growing in organics before, but I went and bought just about the full line of PBP stuff for my next run on the smaller table to test it out, and will be trying some TW along with a few other goodies in that run. But I will keep main table pumpin the chems until I can build up a bit of confidence in the organics.

the input from you guys... I bumped her up to 22 hrs and I'm gonna take 3-4 new cuts... and replace the bulbs... she has never given me much problem... I think she just needs more light... I seem to remember having this problem with some cuts I took before on 18/6... they grew single blades before getting going again... she IS potent... but I find that I don't smoke it all THAT much... and thank goodness it doesn't hermie up... altho' I've think I seen a few single male flowers on a 60 day clone... again thanx for all the imput on it... I was just about to ask how old the bulbs are....I used to use 4 ft fluoros. I kept a my first White Widow plants under them. They started to auto-flower as well. Someone told me that the frequency at which the bulbs flash is getting lower as the bulbs get older. We cant tell with our naked eyes but the plants can, so this flicker is causing them to flower. Replace your bulbs at least every 4 weeks, 3 being better, to make sure that you are getting the most out of your fluoros. I switched back to a mH and I havent had any auto flowering problems since. :smile:

havent seen the auto flowerin or any other flowerin in the cut besides me flippin um. have been kept 24/0 since I got it, been year or better. last week I moved um to 18/6 so they wouldnt use so much water while on vacation. so will see if she flowers or not.

have been under compact fluros(the curly ones), since movin to 18/6 there under HPS. all mothers are gettin cloned for small plants that dont need lots of care while im gone. the mothers off to a buddies to flower off.

have actually been thinkin of droppin it, as have come across just as good or better lately. never cared for the floppyness of the plant.

Theres cuts of this plant close, local buddies have it. ive had it longer than the sourD, but have flowered the SD twice as much. almost same type of weak stemmed plants. the SD aroma is what im takin over the TW. I think the sourD is better smoke, IMO.

to each his own, ill take candy roadkill skunk dipped in diesel over that citrus rotten meat funk. the Deez also yields much better in my OP than the wreck.

Oh, its all cool with me. Shit, i don't say this to loud. My favorite weed is Blue Satelitte #2 from Spice of Life. This stuff is just awsome to me. I can partying my ass of and go clubing all night. Hook up with my girl later on and still get a good nights sleep. To me this weed is the best all a round weed for me. Alot of people know i love the Thai and i'm searching for every Thai gene i can get my hands on, but BS#2 is my all around weed. Thai is my let's get totally fucked up I understand totally.
