Why are you sprouting in rockwool inserted in another medium like that? Ditch the rockwool for starters. Looks like the light they were under was weak or too far away for another and yes...more info about what you're doing is necessary.

could it be damping off?

mega stretch too (top heavy) + medium looks very dry.

try smashing up 1-2 pure tablet aspirin and mixing it with gallon of water, then water them from sprout with that. that prevents damp off. air movement should be a very light light breeze across their tops to make the stems stronger, or just move them around with your finger. touch them and sway them back and forth a few times at least once a day, or as often as you can to let those stems get a bit stronger.

seen stretch like that from windowsill sprouting.

yeah they are in rock wool. just using it up my left overs. the soil mix their in is 50% pet 30% perlite 2% EWC. i started them in the rockwool then when i saw roots coming out of the bottom i transfered them into the medium burying most of the cube.

ive germed in rockwool many times and them cubes are to dry to start with and that could be 1 reason or as has been mentioned before if your light source is to far away or is the wrong type of light the seedlings will grow straight up way to fast and end up killing themselves.

We still need more info.....

I'd ditch the rockwool and start them in the soil mix. Keep your light very close after they sprout(depending on what kind of light it is), and be sure to keep the medium moist....

I prefer to use the Bio Plugs.. Black Sponge rubber looking plugs.
Can't over water them, but you can underwater them.. Thats what looks like what happened to your seedlings.
What Kind and Size lamp are they under? HPS, MH, Florescent? What wattage?

Don't know if you use the "Paper Towel" Method of germinating. If you do, leave the seedings in the towel until the tap is at least 1/8th in long or longer, the Seed Husk should be very loose, or even have popped off, before you put them in the soil, or Bio Plugs that I use.

Don't use anything in your water until you got this down, no aspirin, no nutes, just Plain Old H2O. You shouldn't need to add nutes for the 1st week and maybe even up to two weeks.. some strains require nutes earlier than others.

Was your SOIL REUSED? If you use soil that you used to grow a previous crop, with out a few months composting after wards, your soil can be HOT, unused Nutes burn the small roots and stems and Bye Bye Seedlings.

If you can, get your self a small Florescent Shop Light 2' long no more than about 50 watts. Keep it close to the seedling tops about 4 or 5 inches lower if it wont burn the tops. Don't sue soil until you have a nice robust root system.

they are under two small florescent shop lights both 25w, not as blue as i would like but i have sprung seeds with them before. i use the paper towel method to first pop them, i dont have a problem with that. what happens is they grow and grow then hit a certain height and die, the plants in that photo were fine 4 hours previous. im thinking of changing my lights and using just peat in a small pot.

With most fems that's an almost guaranteed recipe for hermie as aspirin promotes sexual mutations. A breeder friend has sometimes used aspirin to determine a fems potential as a breeder. This was with a Thai mommy I'm pretty sure and Thai's are notorious for hermies. Don't know how this works with sprouts though.
