why do outside plants tolerate higher temps?

Just curious, most plants outside are experiencing 90+ temps daily and seem to love it. I have seen outside plants on a 98 degree day just as happy as can be.

So why can't inside plants do it? The only difference is light intensity that I can think of.

Im really not an expert but i have been thinking about that to.
I think they tolerate heat much better better outside because of the natural winds and air exchange....Fresh air all day. I dont think how big fan you even have, you can never have that fresh air inside.

You live in the Southeast.

It's humid.

Seems like in a non sealed room, it would just be easier to vent the room with enough air to keep Co2 and RH at outside levels. Skip the A/C and DH

I guess the risk with this is bud rot.

My cab as i mentioned in other posts before "spam" lol gets really hot arround 30-37c(outside temperature +2c) !!! but i noticed the higher humidity aswell cause i water 2 times a day on cocos so a lot of water is in the air all the time.

So like Carl says its the humid i cant explain it otherwise why the plants still alive, so indoor can take same temps as outdoor aslong you are Mold free lol maybe mold is the next thats visiting me argh ... but yeah all plants still grow and form buds really well but under high temps like outdoor. i will read carls link sounds very interesting !

Ambient Co2 is around 350-400PPM. Most growers are using 1000-1500PPM inside.

I do not think it is CO2 because it would not be that hard to bring in enough Co2 to keep the room at 350-400

i was reading the links carl provided and it seems to make sense. It is a balance between temps and humidity that keeps the stomata open.

Basically the higher the temps, the higher the humidity should be.

Problem is keeping a bedroom at 80% humidity does wonders for the drywall.

I think that it might have someting to do with the rootzone temps. even though it's 90 ouside at canopy level, it's not anywhere near that at the root zone...... Just my 2 cents.

for the last 2 week here in uk has been warm close and humid.....my room been running at 96f and i'm not seeing any problems yet except me been on edge thinking i'm gonna lose ma crop ^^ but so far nothing bad has happened touch wood

Ive never used a carbon can cos i like to run mass airflow all ways have.
Being in thailand with outside 33c if i run my extracts flat out .
Before i fitted A/C it was 30c with mass airflow 4kw with 3200 cu/ft/min no problems even with a higher heat to light ratio.
the ozone generators in the ducting tke care off the smell.
Plants cool themselves down by transpiration same as we do ,well most of us lol.
a light breaze outside is a lot of air movment through the leaves.

The roots stay much cooler in the ground than they do in 5gal (or whatever you use) containers.

The roots are able to stay much cooler as well. The ground doesn't heat up nearly as much as pots or buckets do inside a grow room. If you keep the roots cool, plants can also tolerate much higher temperatures....

I don't know about that root thing. I have seen plants outside in smart pots, grow bags etc. A 3 gallon black grow bag sitting on top of the ground has to heat up

And I bet yields are lowered compared to the same plant with a colder root zone... You're welcome to experiment
