??WHY?? buds grow without trichs

I have been growin under my 400w hps in my closet for a while now, potting in foxfarm ocean forrest soil, I have pulled a few harvest so far. I have never had any odor or resin production from my plants, and I cant figure out why! I am growing some elite clones from some well respected people in this community ( OG kush, ECSD, Blowfish) I have ran through a bunch of scenarios in my head as to why this is happening, but I just cant figure it out!

Any info would be greatly appreciated if anyone has ever had this problem or can give me thier 2 cents on why it may be happening. Thanks alot!

What strain is it?My friend along time ago grew out some seeds from some regular bud,not commercial homegrown but kinda Mexi and it looked real good.The buds he took the seeds from were huge and dense and covered with thrichs.But when he grew them out there was like nothing .I dont know why it was like that but i thought maybe he would find one that was a keeper but,nada .I wonder if very hot temps could stress it and make it not produce resin,but usually when stressed,plants can produce more resin.Anyway,it makes me wonder why they would have no resin when the bud they came from was loaded..

and its not just one strain acting like this its all 3
no skunk smell anyway

Well , if you trust your clone source ,and you are sure its the right stuff ,..then it has to be the soil,too much nutes or an extreme temp change. elevation could be a element as well. anyhow I have seen this condition happin due to high nit. and un stable ph

i absolutely trust the source.
as for the soil, the person i got the clones from is using the same stuff and had no problems at all. All buds came out 100%. But quite possibly in my set up it could be a factor.

What was the temp and humidity in the grow space throughout the grow? Heat and humidity would be my guess but it is hard to say.

Theres something definatly up with something.The only time i've had plants like that is when growing outdoor varieties indoors like passion#1 for instance,blinding smoke grown in my backyard but the biggest pile of wank when grown indoors under 1000w HPS.The buds were just as big as thay were outdoors if not bigger but thay had no oder,tiny just about invisible trichomes on the calyxes and a total lack of potency.

this is exactly what is happening
all my buds are big lush no whispy or tiny buds
but there is no odor or resin growing at all

Wow, what a fucking bummer. All that time and expense for natta. I have never heard of this. I am glad to hear that indoors and outdoors stuff above. I will make sure I read the fine print before doing that my own self.

it hasnt been for nothing, i have gotten alot of buds, and they do work, just not nearly how potent they should be, they are probably turning out to be 20% as potent as they should be

Not sure what day of 12/12 those last pics were taken on but those plants don't look very healthy. Looks like pH lockout or overfeeding.

Dude That Looks Like Heat issue ,What type of air flow do you have flowing thru the room?are you exhausting the spent air? if so how? what are the temps at plant canopy level when your 400 is running full blast? what size pots are you in?, and how long have they been in there?

i would agree...what is the pH of your runoff??

they look a bit overfed/rootbound...not to say that these conditions would affect trichome production, though.

no thichs even under magnification??

the pH is somewhere in the area of 6.5-7.2
i know i was having heat and mite issues, both are now fixed.
im using dolomite lime to control pH
im really into tropical fish aquariums, and have Discus fish for those who might also be into them, so im pretty good at controling pH issues
