Check out B Side Players. They're from San Diego. They tour accross the country. They've got a couple different sounds. Lots of horns and drums. ~ Enjoy!

How about Midnite? They've got some real thick rootsy bass lines. But a band like Groundation's got more horns and effects.

this is an interesting thread props bdomina!

what up shoe, i know i been mia, but i'm back and i thought id make my first post on a thread about reggae!

its makes me happy to hear about people talkin about SOJA and MIDNITE cause it takes me back to the 90's when SOJA were just kids in high school and just gettin into it don't get me wrong they were doin it then too ...but they were just kids om Va. gettin into the D.C. scene. Vaughn the lead for MIDNITE was the coolest cat always calm and collected, you catch him on the subway all the time...the bredren couldn't even afford a car at the time, even though they had a regular gig at Bukom Cafe,,,,man how i use to look forward to seeing MIDNITE playin their first album Unpolished they were the best reggae band in D.C. period. I was sad to see them go but i'm really glad they made it out and came up, they were meant for the world to hear not just D.C.

my bad bro didn't mean to hijack your thread but those names bring back alot of memories for me, anyways if u want my two cents :

these are my all time favorites:

Roots Reggae:

Israel Vibrations
Ijahman Levi
Michael Rose
Black Uhuru, when Michael Rose was with them
Steele Pulse
The Mighty Diamonds
The Abyssinians

Rockers Reggae:

Linvall Thomson
Augustus Pablo
Hugh Mundell
