Whoops: flipped early

I have some NL 5 and a few WW which have been running in a small box for about 5 weeks. I accidentally flipped to 12/12 after 4 weeks (I misread my notes, yeah, I know). A couple of the WW are starting to show some maturity: they have the offset branching that the grown-up plants sometimes show-along the new growth the leaves are no longer symmetrical but alternate along the stem. I wish I remembered the breeder but these seeds are a few years old now. Unfortunately I have no signs of sex yet at 10x magnification. Does anyone know if flipping these strains, possibly early, is going to affect my yields?

yes it will. it will be lower usually. less veg =less yield .

you"ll still get something nice out of the widows tho. the more sativa the better if you're flipping early. just make sure they're in decent sized pots and not solo cups or something.

Yup, lower yield. But if it's been more than 2 or 3 days, don't flip them back to veg. I made that mistake once, it was a nightmare.

Really? What happened? I've had a few rounds of plants spend a week in 12/12 for sexing. Then flipped them back to 24/0 with no ill effects. I know it increases risk of hermies, but if the genetics are good it's not usually a problem.

Seeds are a different story. Once I replanted my room after harvest and forgot to change the timer from flower to veg. I didn't figure it out until 5 days later, and I changed it back to veg because they were too small. They went back to veg, but did the weird 1 or 3 fingered leaves for a while, then started growing normal leaves. By then they were the size I wanted. I put them into flower, and they went back to the 1-3 leaves again, then grew into whispy airy buds that ended up so shitty looking that we just made hash out of the whole room. They were Sour Diesel clones. If that happens again, I will just rip them out and start over because I spent 3 months and got a shitty yield of crappy buds. Did make good hash though. But every time I harvest, I remember that, and go right to my timer and change it.
