the appliance timers... dont have an insert slot for the ground part of the plug... does anyone know where i can find a timer with 3 insertion slots?...if not i guess all that grounding was a waste. i think its safe to cut the ground prong off of the plug right? thanks
Don't pull you're ground plug out.. Especially if it's for an HID. The appliance timers with a ground should be @ the same store they are just a little more price wise. make sure it's at least 15 amps. It should say so on the box. Good Luck
Go over to the hardware store and get a heavy duty intermatic timer. Even the outdoor ones will do. I've got one that is a black box with a cover rated at 15 amps.
And of course, it has a 3 pronged outlet on it and it's power cord plug is 3 pronged too.
High Yeild makes a great timer for bout 12 bucks w/ ground plug. I lke it because if memory serves me.. it has 5 min intervals But then again I have CRS
Lowes also has the heavy duty 15 amp timer w/ three holes for just under $10. Last year at christmas they had a display out on sale for $7.95 and I picked up 8 of them.
18$ (iv seen it for 36$ too) for this digital timer, I like it because if the power goes out it saves the time and settings, and I also like my light to come on exactly when I want it to.
