Who here thinks seeded buds on grade A smoke?

I keep hearing from "The real seed breeders" that part of the reason seeds cost so much is due to the fact they don't get to smoke their buds, :joint: only seeds... :chin:

I find this to be hogwash.. I smoke my seeded buds once the seeds are carefully remove and they are still high grade smoke..

Double Dutch x Sour D...

So let me know what you all think ...Are they good to smoke or not :chin:

I say they are good to smoke, I smoke it all the time and I really cant tell much of a difference.
And the reason why seed cost so much is that everything on a black market is high priced due to the risks involved with supplying it ( plus a certain degree of greed amongst some of course :p )

Hi,

For me, this buds should go in the ice-o-lator...but's that's just my point of see. ;-)

I will surely take left some buds to smoke without the seeds, but i will not smoke the whole buds.

That's maybe an error, i know that some smokers prefer seeded buds than classic buds, but i'm not in. Personnal choice, that's all...

If it's good weed, I don't care if there is seed. Thats the way I get most of my weed seed to grow. Better than paying through the nose, and taking a chance that what you get is not what you ordered. Testers Testers Testers

Just make shure you get them all out. They will pop out into your lap.OUCH!!

i thought its not as good because alot of the stuff that would produce more thc goes into the seed making

Well don't my buds look coated with THC filled trichs?

I have smoke seeded and unseeded cannabis for 20 years (unless the buds a dragged for seeds) you wouldn't know the difference if I showed up with a rolled blunt of Sour Diesel from once seeded bud.. I do it all the time and peeps still say it's the best herb they have ever had....light weights :pointlaug

Stealthballer ... I don't sell any so weight doesn't mean much to me.

Oh...... yes the buds are smaller since the plant switches to making seeds, but she still produces Trichs. In fact she produces even more trichs as a self defense to protect the seeds from bugs, birds, and what not... :joint:

Those buds in the pic are very lightly seeded...
When I pollenate a plant there are generally very few calyx not containing seed... With all the palnts energy going to produce a bud full of seeds, there is simply not much there to smoke...
It doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the smoke to me, just the lack of it in seeded moms...
Also when I've got to seperate and sort and package several hundred seeds, preserving the small bits of smokeable parts of the plant is the least of my concerns... Especially making sure no immature seeds or seed hulls get into a joint, eeewwww what a nasty hit that is... best to throw it in with the rest of the trim and get what hash you can from it...

The buds you've got there look quite smokable...

So the dudes dont smoke the buds...

So the dudes dont smoke the buds...

...they dont make bubble either...??? lol...like you say, hogwash. I love seeded bud, sensi too..picking seeds can be fun between joints lol, but sinsimilia is preffered for ease though.

Jah bless, be safe.. :sasmokin:

Sinsemilla = more weed, not better weed.

Peace from Colombia

I agree 100%. Back in the day alot of quality weed was imported that almost always had seeds. Thai Stick, Columbian Gold to name a couple.

Would you pass up these seeded buds of Santa Marta Gold Columbian?

I've always thought that under optimum conditions a seeded bud will contain just as many trichomes as if it wasn't seeded...the reason behind growing seedless is as stated before, to produce more plant matter to smoke on. I've also read that trichomes are naturally in place to protect the seed from harm/predators on the plant.....I could be wrong but...wouldn't it be fully profitable and economically viable to make hash from your seeded green?

This quote from one of DJ Short's articles is pretty relevant here...:)

A quick word about the virtues of hermaphrodites: Ask any old-time herbalist, one who has been experiencing fine herb since at least the early 1970's, what their favorite all-time herbal variety was, and the answer will be something to the effect of; “Santa Marta or Acapulco Gold” or “Highland or Chocolate Thai” or “Punta Roya (red-tipped gold Highland Oaxacan)” or “Guerran Green” or “Panama Red” etc. et. al., all of which were equatorial, or sub-tropical, origin sativa and hermaphroditic. Even the great hashish of the era such as Lebanese Red and Blonde, all Moroccan and Nepalese were produced from seeded stock.

This is not so much in praise of the hermaphrodite as it is a suggestion in regard to the cannabinoid profile of seeded verses non-seeded herb. It has been my experience that the cannabinoid profile of seeded herb produces a wider range of effect than from non-seeded, or sinsimilla, herb. The equatorial environment also probably contributed to a wider range of cannabinoids. One of the aspects of the equatorial environment is its consistent day/night temperature range, there is little difference between day and night temps on the equator supposedly inspiring a wider cannabinoid profile. Couple this with the seeded cannabinoid profile and it becomes easy to understand the popularity of the equatorial produced sativa, despite its hermaphroditic problems. I am curios as to what future research in this capacity may provide.
