Looking for info on Ken's Grand Daddy Purple. Wondering what are the chances of me me getting something close to the clone. Wanting a colorful, tasty indica to keep around. Any other suggestions are welcome. I have grown Hammerheads GDP x Qurkle which had a great grape koolaid taste and nice high. Still got 5 more seeds but heard the grape taste came from the GDP side. Any suggestions?

The GDP has grape terps with a high floral Kush note as well. Most of the terps come on in the end. It can go 9 weeks and it gets really deep purple when it does. It vegs real slow. Barely stretches. It generally has to be pinched up a bit becuase of insane sidebranch growth. Yields well for a small plant. Does ok on ice water hash, does awesome as rosin. It's still a popular clone on the west coast I have a mom, I just don't run it that offten. Hope that helps.

I got some pre 98 Bubba S2s that I made a couple of years ago should do the trick. The other Bubba crosses I have grown made from the same father had good results and no hermies. They have just broke ground yesterday so only time will tell.

I got some GDP seeds back in 2012, was very good overall. I had some that got more purple than others. The high is great, taste is quite good. I never had the clone or smoked it.

Ken had some problems after that and some doubt as to his genetics being the same now. I think those that had the clone and then grew the seeds said the clone was stronger. As for me, I thought the stone was strong enough and really nice.

I have a cutting that came form his co-op south of SF 7-8 years ago. It has a very complex grape and floral aroma. The flowers are very dense. Botrytis is a real threat starting about day 50. It turns purple starting about day 60 if you don't overfeed it and keep it cool. It's good for two cuttings- one about day 63 and a second about 10 days later. THC runs 19-21%. It's not a plant for beginners.

Used to grow nothing but kens gdp. Best GDP EVER!!! You would really have to fuck up to fuck this strain up. dont put them under 1000 at first. T5 them and gradually move up. Keep the temp during lights on 70 - 77 and let the temp drop no more than 5 - 7 degrees at night aor your risking PM problems for sure. Spider mites love gdp. So you better be up on your dehum game. Flush every other feeding.

CSI humboldt seeds have a nice purple urkle that you could find a keeper that would be good as ken's gdp cut.

Oh yeah I forgot. Dont let your night time humidity get too high. 45 to 50. I try to keep it at 47 just to be safe.

Kens GDP is GDP x salmon creek bigbud to best of my memory, It produces much greater than the GDP. Outdoor kens could get as big a 8-9 feet tall and do about 7 pounds, harvested first of Nov , started flower Sept 05-10th going 8 weeks. indoor she could stretch 2-3 times so 18-24" was max going into flower get 6-8 oz per plant. and Buds were quite fatter than GDP and were still really tight PM and mold was a risk. ran clone and seeds seemed pretty uniform, great nose grape and maybe floral, never got her to purple up like GDP did. I agree 63-65 days indoor.

Hope that helps if any questions PM

Thanks for the info! Just wondering if GDP would be worth my time to pheno hunt through. That CSI suggestion I got might be the move! Any other great suggestions on a colorful indica would be very welcomed!

Steve Tuck gave Ken a strain to play around with (GDP) and Ken acts like he bred it and has something to do with it. If Ken is an honest person he will admit that he got it from Humboldt Cannabis Center, but Steve doesn't even care because of how weak it is.

The mother is Mot Da Purple, and that was potent and funky.

I love GDP's smell and taste as well as bag appeal but it's always been too weak for me.
