White Widow Dog Shit Pheno

Hello everyone. Circa 2010-2011 I was getting a lot of White Widow from the grower, but through a middle man (a friend of mine, and a friend of the growers, but I did not know the grower).

Most of the time, it was what you'd expect. Always a great high (in my opinion) and very effective medicinally for my depression and anxiety, as well as beneficial to my music career as it gave me lots of inspiration, but on one occasion, I got a batch of White Widow that smelled EXACTLY like fresh dog shit.

Luckily, when ground, it had the familiar astringent, piney, classic White Widow smell, and the taste was luckily nice and piney and a little lemony as well, same great White Widow effects, etc... but as I said, in a jar, or in a pill bottle, it smelled exactly like fresh dog shit.

It was the best White Widow I've ever experienced, and after my Indigo Berry Kush grow, which I'll also be planting my Colombian Krippy S1 seed as well, I plan on purchasing White Widow seeds.

I have no idea what seed company the grower in question was using. Clearly he wasn't growing from clones, as each batch of White Widow was extremely similar but always had some differences.

The goal of this thread is to see if anyone who has grown White Widow from various seed companies have encountered the Dog Shit pheno, and if so, what seed company was it from?

As far as I know, the only White Widow available commercially where I live is from Greenhouse Seed Co. Other companies sell autoflowering versions, but I don't want that. But ordering online would work fine as well, so like I said, if anyone has experience growing White Widow and found a pheno that when dried and cured smells like fresh dog shit, please let me know.

Seedsman do a white widow, I believe they ship all over the place...
I haven’t tried the ghs white widow, but I have had some very good plants from ghs ( ssh, slh, Hawaiian snow to name a few )

maybe some kind of guano/manure input they used on that grow, or a bacteria/microbe additive

I have only had some diesel that was maybe giesel that had a poo smell, it was like the halitosis from the D but with an edge to it that gave it a poo nuance

I used aerated banana water during flowering on my tangerine jillybean, first time doing it but the plant had funk like I've smelled before but never in anything I grew, it was like if someone barfed up some flinstones vitamins

I think fish stuff can bring the funk too

I would go with something used in the grow rather than a pheno, get mr nice's widow if you can

Lots of folks are looking for a cat piss pheno, never heard of a dog shit pheno. I've grew a cat piss pheno in the late 80s, but I didn't like it. Right now, I am in search of a stinky foot pheno, but if I run across a dog shit pheno, its all yours!

One of my Sweet Cheese from Sweet Seeds which is described as having an "old cheese" smell, is an insult to old cheese. Smells exactly like old gym socks or taking off shoes after a long day of work, rancid. But when touched, it has fruity and lemony terps. It's currently drying, so I'm not sure how it will smell when dried and cured. I'll let you know.

That sounds like an ex girlfriend...she had a wild streak in her. First time, I'm what the F is that?? Then after getting in the groove, she had a bit of tangy fruit going on. Tripped me out. Now that you've spurred this memory, I may have to forego the stinky foot pheno search and just start smoking blueberry...

Why not just get mr nice dog shit. If you were that far down the line how knows if it was white widow at all . back in the day i would change the name of a strian depending on where it was being droped as to bring less Attention .

I have ran a ton of mr nice stuff and most of his gear kicks out lemon & pine terps. I belive from his haze . just my two cents.

I’ve grown a lot of Dinafem’s white widow and while there was one insanely loud and white pheno there was nothing that smelt like dogshit

I wasn't that far down the line, I would take my friend to the growers house, stay in the car, while we each got an OZ. He would have no reason to lie, he was known for his White Widow, and apart from the scent, the flavor and the high were what I know to be as White Widow.

I am interested in Mr. Nice's Shit, which I've heard is more Skunky, and basically the skunky version of Skunk #1 but I've grown so many strains lately with skunk genetics and while I don't mind it, I'm tired of it, and want to revisit the past and grow White Widow. I'm sure I'll be satisfied with any White Widow, it's just that one specific pheno was truly unique.

I love White Widow, and one of my favorite strains of all time is Dinafem's Moby Dick which is WW x Haze, but I also miss pure White Widow, it seems to be a forgotten strain.

I was thinking about it the other day while listening to Lil Wayne's Top Back remix, which has the line "And that white widow weed out the jar is a must, if you give me a cigar then a cigar I'll bust, put that white widow weed in the cigar and puff, look ma i'm tryna make a porno starin us, well not just us a couple foreign sluts".

I miss the classics, and these days everything seems to be OG Kush crossed with OG Kush or some Cookies or Gelato BS which I'm sick of.

So again, I have no issue sourcing White Widow seeds from any seed company that offers them, I'm just simply curious if anyone who has grown White Widow has had a fresh dog shit scent pheno.

Never encountered dogshit in anything. The Best Widow I smoked had a sour smell, like wet towel sour. Tasted fine, but the smell was funky.

Had a Hash Plant herm and pollinate an Afghani #1. The offspring smelled and tasted of garbage. Like dumpster juice. Strong as fuck, but it was nasty. I gave that shit away.

I'm guessing you got ahold of a one-off pheno and not something you will readily find again

If I was gonna have a go at widow I would go with either the '98 aloha widow' or old Dutch genetics 'old widow'. I don't think you'll find the old style widow in modern offerings other than maybe those.

As for dog shit I've smelt it in chemdog and chem hybrids, Sour X chem and chem X og kush in particular.

the best white widow I've had was really loud, skunky gassy piney a bit on the burnt rubber spectrum, pretty hashy and a bit earthy with slight citrus, potent feels like your eyes are bleeding face tingling, not euphoric like the blue dream face tingling but like you're fucking torched face tingling more akin to a dab, stuck to the couch at first to come to grips with it

It wasn't appealing at all. But when ground, that smell disappeared, and luckily it didn't transfer to taste either. Ground and taste wise, it was the White Widow that I know and love, just the best version I've personally experienced, or the 2nd. I had another batch that was super super piney and lemony that was incredible as well, and it didn't have the dog shit smell.

To the person who asked if it could have been Great White Shark. Well, the person who grew WW, was only growing White Widow and SSH, which leads me to believe that perhaps it was indeed something from GHS. If perhaps he got free seeds thrown in one of his orders, for marketing purposes, it would seem plausible that he'd call it White Widow, as more people are familiar with that name, than Great White Shark. Is Great White Shark known to have a dog shit smelling pheno?

Try Old School Genetics. They have an old widow from the 90's. That is where I would look.

I'm going to have to start selling seeds. I could pop 5 beans (from one old friend) and find a dogshit pheno.

Waiting on a "creepy cat shit" to finish right now. Over nuted, floppy, everything else came down weeks ago. GEE I WONDER WHY NO ONE KNOWS GOOD WEED ANYMORE? The room smells like a fresh cat dump, but super sour on the mustache for a couple hours before turning skunky.
