White Widow/Black Widow (Dinafem/Mr Nice)

Hello ICers, I'm about to run a load of these and am just curious as to what other peoples experiences were.

Apparently Dinafem is just a femmed version of Mr Nice which is meant to be the real deal.

I ran a freebie a while back and was seriously impressed - very compact, dense plant with leaves that were triangular. Done in 56 days. It looked exactly like this:

One thing about it too was that it was just right as soon as it was dried, didnt need a cure, bag appeal off the scale.

So, has anyone grown this and have any advice, or would like to share their thoughts on this old classic strain?

I was very disappointing with my MNS Black Widow.

poor bud structure, unimpressive resin production, 10+ weeks minimum to flower, dried buds have no bag appeal, most were herm.

I`v run a Dinafem version of White Widow....compact buds,average yield,medium potency....nothing special...for me...but some of my mates like her...hmmm but I dont now why!?.....I wanna give her try coz its oldschool strain,but I didnt find enything special in taste, smell or type of high.I grown many 10 weeks flo strains wich was much much better than WW in taste,smell and high!....but its only my personal opinion....

Problem with Mr Nice is that most parent plants have changed as well, so it's unlikely you will find the same quality as in pre2000 strains.

Dinafem's are S1s from some of the many WW clones spread aroun Spain, just like the rest of their strains, so you never know what to expect really. Quality can be good or can be crap, depending on your luck (no one does progeny tests with hundreds of S1 plants anyway) and how do you personaly like that specific selection.

De Sjaaman (Ingemar) carries the Widow and he's alledegly the real breeder of that strain, who knows the truth though.

I ran the Mr nice black widow. I guess when I think of white widow I think of a squat little frosted bush.... not what black widow is.... Brazilian sativa. In my opinion not suited for indoor growing. Potent yes, wispy sativa, uhhh yes.... long flowering yes again. So I'm pretty sure there are two different strains with two different names fighting over their last name. Critical skunk from Mr.Nice was far more impressive. Id look somewhere else for a widow however

I did a Dinafem WW freebie too. I had some deficiencies in late flower, but found the end product to be ok, nothing special as others noted.

This is a debate that is old as the strain itself. Nevil said somewhere along the lines everything got crossed to a haze? If that is true or not i do not know. But the original widow from 95-96 was some of best i have smoked.. Taste wasn't anything special, but boy the buzz was sweat inducing. The only thing i have found that came close to the original was from paradise and seedsman.

same here sativa 92. i think it was 1993 when i first got to smoke WW. it tasted horrible but it would TKO u if u hit it to many times. i dont smoke weed for the taste primarily. i also wish i could find that early 90s skunk that i have been on the hunt for since it disappeared around 96 here in my area. i have yet to find anything like the 90s WW and skunk strain. i will keep searching though lol good lead on paradise i will check it out. i love all the strains i have grew from them so far.

I would definitely believe the Mr nice strain got crossed with a haze. It was super sensitive to any mutes and clawed like hell. It did have pink hair though. Pretty unique punk rock hair-do
