this morning I noticed the temps were at 98f I installed a 110 cfm fart fan in the celing and put a fan blowing on the moms. right now they are in 3x3 rockwool sitting on a bed of perlite. this morning I noticed a white powder around a couple of the stems at the base of the plants were I had previously cut squares of black white polly to cover the rockwool on one of the ww it was bad enough that the stem at base had shrunk to a 1/4 inch, previously 3/8's while removing all polly I noticed a small amount of powderd substance on tops of cubes. Only plants were the polly was touching have been thusfar afected. I want to get this under control as I will be putting all plants in a 1 gallon pots, drip feed, hydroten. as of now no ill affects are showing on leafs. is it because high temps? do I need a fungaside? Please help

Without pics or feed levels, hard to say but, it may just be buildup of nutrient salts. Does it rinse right off? If so, try it and give it a few days while you look for other symptoms.

If it's Powdery Mildew, some talk of sulfur burners. I field stripped the garden, threw out every rockwool cube in the room and sterilized everything inside and out with a 5% bleach solution.

I used to get white shit on the top of my Peat starter plugs, until i started covering them with hydroton so the light wasn't on it. I think it was algea, judging by that it only happens in light. It didn't seem to harm the plant though. Maybe that is what you are experiencing? Might not have been algea whatever it was.

I've seen green, red, brown and black algae but, never white. I doubt what you had was algae.

I removed all poly and mixed a baking soda and water mix, 1 tsp to 1/2 cup and wiped away the white powder with a piece of gauz. on the white widow the stem was rotted some but plant still seems fine. on the afgan kush and big bang they were just a little brown and woody under the powder. there are still what looks like mold very small on tops of cubes. I fed them a normal feed with some orgunism xl @5.5 ph, 580ppm. 900ppm total with hard water.RH is at 30%. I am also wating on a plate for my ozone genarator that should be here tomarrow. Sounds like salt build up. Flush em and wipe away the white stuff while you are pouring the flush water over them. I really like using Clearex when flushing. Use your fingers and work it out really good. Won't hurt em as long as you don't rip apart the rockwool. Wash the stem off good too. Rockwool, imo, needs to flushed out at least 1 time every 30 days or so. Keeps it prime for air exchange, aids in stopping lockouts, and keeps roots healthy.
Have had white, rusty, red, and green crap on em. You'd be surprised at the abuse I put my rockwool through. Don't fear the rockwool, hehe

If anything gets on the stem and stays moist it will rot the stem. Was it rotting right at the spot where the stem meets the rockwool or above it? Keeping the panda plastic or any other plastic film on top of the cubes holds the moisture and helps to keep it on what ever it touches. Continuous moisture on the stem will cause a weak spot helping aid stem rot.
Never used dutch master APS. I never use rockwook conditioner. Used a conditioner 1 time and had more problems than I ever had. I normally put clones in either 6" cubes, coco, or soil a day or 2 after roots show up. If I have to wait I use a very, very mild mix of GH micro and bloom until I can transplant and then use my regular nute line
Waiting to take clones? If the plant is healthy, standing proud and green with branching, cut it!
To be totally honest, I soak my rockwool cubes in ro water over night. My ro water normally runs around 4.8 to 5.0 ph. I use KLN liquid at 2ml/pint. Cut the clones, soak them in the solution for 15 minutes and then put them into the presoaked rw cubed that I squeezed the excess water out of. All I give them after that is the same ro water when needed until I get roots. Depending on strains, I get roots in 7 to 12 days. Never had a droopy clone or lost one doing it this way.

The rot was vertical between the cube and poly, defiantly a moisture trap with the high temps from the new 1000 mh. hopefully with the new fan temps will stay between 78-82f, I got rid of the poly and should be transplanting tomorrow Ill probally wait a day or 2 to let them adjust then if all is well I'll cut. will the stem be ok now its dried out? How much time do you give moms to regenerate between cuts? Thanks for all the help, Karma, One Love

If it's dried out and now further damage is noticed you should be ok. Keep an eye on it tho to make sure is the best I can tell you.
I keep Bonsai moms in soil. I can take cuts today, feed with veg nutes and take more in a week or so-as long as I have a good root system and good growth on them. How long to regenerate is really subjective on how YOU keep and treat your mother stock.
