whiplash from headbanging at concert?

C

Cozy Amnesia

I went to a buckethead concert two nights ago and my neck still feels like it's broken. Ok, thats an exageration, but it still fucking hurts a lot.

I went to the concert on a bunch of adderall, booze, and of course lots of smoke. I basically headbanged, fist-pumped, moshed, and generally raged for hours untill I thought I was going to pass out from exhaustion, heat, and body odor.

Anywho...my neck hurts so god damn bad. I'm just wondering if it's possible to get what the medical profession would call "whiplash" from a situation like this. Possible?

im almost positive it is, unfortunately. I remember watching some documentary where Cliff Burton's father talked about how much Cliff's neck would hurt after shows. I myself was in some serious pain after a few slayer shows. (my own fault) If its really bothering you...go get checked out, but i dont think its anything a doobie and a few beers cant fix.

keep it up....you will be crying when you get older...you are doing permanent nerve damage...

Ask Jason "The Shadow" Newsted (not that anyone cares about him)

You are also probably going to lose your hearing if you listen as loud as I think you do. no joke.

Newsted left Metallica for several reasons. He wanted to play more of a creative role but found that frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich were running the show. He felt the band had lost its focus and was spending too much time involved in litigation and political rhetoric. And finally, he needed time off to recover from neck and back injuries he sustained banging his head every night onstage.

"Watch a couple videos from 1990 and it's not hard to figure out how I damaged myself," he said. "I mean, 200 days a year I would give myself full-on whiplash. In 1990, the doctor told me to stop doing that. Well, I did 10 more years of it after that and now I'm kind of in this spot. I can't perform as the performer people know me as, like a complete psycho. Doing that kind of touring is not in the cards for me right now."

I agree about Mustaine, he always was the better musician. Kurt is too weedly weedly for me, although I give him respect for his epic soloing.

James is the King of Riffing, and pioneered a legendary metal rhythm guitar sound, unfortunately copied and imitated the world over now, spawning this awful awful "nu-metal", but Hetfield is such a neanderthal...

Funny enough, I always really like "and justice".....Dyers Eve is my fave.

Just don't know how ulrich ever got into that band - he is such a one trick pony and it is painfully obvious in Some kinda Monster that he is a shit drummer, has no groove and can't jam at all....a drum machine would be a better option for that band.

There is one and only one killer metal band, one that Metallica wishes they could approach on their best day....

and that band is....

Wow.

I give a fuck about metallica...

seriously though, they're the worst band ever.

Thanks for caring about my neck. It's feeling better by the way.

Glad your neck is better.

When I got banned from Napster by Metallica back in the day, that was it (even though the Bob Cock/Black album move really turned me off them).

How did that turn out? People are downloading more than ever.....and Metallica....swirling the toilet.

Stupid little man Lars.....even he knows he is a douche - he admitted it.
