Which would achieve better/faster result?

Would you keep 1 inch seedlings with first set of serrated leaves under a T-8 4 ft fixture for another week or so or put them under a 400 watt now.Heat is not an issue

If the room is dialed and conditions are good you can do the 400.But at that age they don't need much to be happy.Me myself i'd stick with the t8s for a bit mo.

Yea I've always gone with the flo for a couple weeks just 1/2 inch above the babies but I have a reason to finish as quickly as possible this timearound

I keep all my young under t8's until their a foot tall, I just love how tight the node spacing is under them.

Toker said it......i think ya'd get better structure under the t8 but if yas gotta get'em goin quickly the 400 ain't gonna hurt.I'd just keep'em backed off at the beginning and get them closer bit by bit every other day or so.Hell they may be fine 18 inches under the 400.

better yet.... hang the 400 for top light and growth...
then set the t-8's down low to shine up into the bottom branches of the plants for side lighting and undergrowth...will lead to a fuller canopy.....
