which square pots! spirals or ordinary

I am looking for a new round square 1gal pots. I found two versions one version has a spiral-longitudinal bulge on the sides and helproots to come to light sooner, while others are straight-sided!

i would buy the regular one myself. why not buy both half regular half fancy and see if there is any benefit to the fancy ones
