which is better.....PS4 or XboX one

looking @ buying a NEW game system for my young daughter...
never been a gamer or a tech head... so not much insight...

So I ask... which is a better system and why....

I don't know which system is better, but I've always been on the xbox side of the fence. I've always preferred the controller setup xbox has over playstation.

I would agree to some extent. When playing online multiplayer, once a certain skill level has been achieved, one can certainly gain competitive edges through upgrading their PC. IMO it doesn't allow for an even playing field. I used to go crazy upgrading my system every month or so back when I was addicted to Unreal Tournament.

Now for gaming I save money and stick to consoles and know that for the most part I am playing on a level field.

Sure up front a PC might cost you more. But it will outlive the consoles for that simple fact you can upgrade them and keep them technologically relevant. There are tons of free and cheap/on sale games to play on Steam for the PC, too. Plus you can use it as a PC and not just a gaming machine.


Just cause someone might have better specifications doesn't mean they'll be better. My friend is really good at counter strike and he plays on a macbook with like 30fps while he's playing against people with fps 3-5x that.

Its more about having the specs required to play those games rather than trying to get an edge imo.

- just buy what your friends have, or if you have no friends like me buy the better system (sony ps4).

(because "fun" should really be your main priority!)

for your young daughter, i would get a 2nd hand ps3 from ebay; really good value nowadays!

and no yearly subscription cost.

also vast amount of games to choose from!, for all ages.

...i would recommend read dead redemption if she likes "shooting people in the face with shotguns, in slow motion, on horseback" etc.

i have to agree with hello/banana, if your daughter has no preference to one or the other due to wanting to play with her friends the ps3 is probably best for a child and most economical for you their are alot of kids movie related games harry potter and things like that also the lego games are all alot of fun and cheap second hand at stores like game stop

I would sit with my daughter and look trough all the ps4/xbox one games and see what interests the most.
For some people brand or hardware isnt a matter, its the games that rules imo!

they both have 8 core AMD processors, both have 8 gigs of RAM and a 500GB HDD, both have WiFi, Blu-ray, HDMI ...

Playstation has bluetooth and it's RAM is made from faster gddr5 the xbox only has ddr3.

between the two ... the Playstation can boast better specs. Not by much though.

not anymore.. I thought a year of playstation plus 50$.. ps4 charges.. same with xbox one.. for online gaming..

I have a xbox one. its a great system.. I buy a XIM4 .. and a gaming keyboard and mouse.. and play First Person Shooters that way .. I hate controllers for FPS games..
