Which CO2 Meter ?

I'm looking for a General-use Handheld CO2 meter.

So then the question is, WHICH CO2 meter ?

I was hoping to get one for under $100.

There's dozens, maybe hundreds, of CO2 meters for under $100.

/\ These guys have a bunch of quality looking meters, but they're all $300+.

Amazon has 20+ pages of handheld CO2 meters.

$60 for the "Langkou" meter, which is (maybe) highly rated, but Amazon ratings are often spoof'ed.

Looking at the reviews -
"Those has to be the easiest lighter to use and my fingers don't get burned!"
Why would someone's fingers get burned using a CO2 meter ?

LOL

The Langkou reviews are for a different product, a lighter. Someone has even posted a photograph of it, red stick.

"Hand held" meter sounds useless. The CO2 from your breath will throw off any meter sensitive enough to be worth buying.
I'm not gonna go shopping for you, but it seems like critical features would be remote monitoring and data logging. The ability to calibrate would also be a good idea.

Last time I looked at that stuff, the price of a good CO2 meter was about the same as a good CO2 controller.
Might want to consider getting a controller instead as it gives you the opportunity to do something about the readings you get.

More info.. What are you trying to do?.

Just measure CO2 levels in an enclosed space.

That one picture showed a CO2 meter reading 550 ppm.

Something like that, but with the ability to read CO2 levels from 200 ppm to 30,000 ppm. 30,000 ppm = 3%.

Or if that's too much of a range, 250 ppm to 10,000 ppm, whatever works.

If that's all you need a Digital Co2 detector will be fine.. If you plan on adding Co2 in the future you should look at Controllers. They will have a relay for a solenoid to turn on/off Co2. Search for Air Quality Monitor Portable indoor. Prices very from super cheap to very expensive lol.

If all you want to know is how much Co2 is in the room any meter will work fine. Search for Air Quality Monitor Indoor. This measures a few.

Thanks a lot !

I would like a CO2 meter that reads continuously, so that you don't have to reach into the chamber it's in to push a button to get a reading.

On the other hand, if it reads continuously, it will use up energy faster and exhaust the batteries.

You don't need anything above 5k. Most are self calibrating or you put in a calibrate mode but all that does is set whatever the air currently is at 400 ppm. You pay for what yoy get. I have two of the Green Eye types and they are very good last for years so far.

I have two of thsese. They seem to be accurate but they temp humidity isn't. No support. They are nice looking...

These are the green eyes. The can be had in a data logging setup. Not much you can do with it though. I've been gathering the outside CO2 this summer with one I have this year.

The one I showed has the range applicable for plants. It reads and displays history. The temp and humidity are pretty good but only for where the thing is at - usually near light height. It may have a card, but I don’t care. When the dawg and I are in the room the co2 goes over 600.
