Which carbon air filter? Can, ActiveAir, eBay?

Just started looking at these carbon air filters such as Can Filter, HF's ActiveAir, and a ton of knockoffs on eBay which seem to have similar specs. Some are coconut carbon, some mined carbon(RC-48? CTC60? among others), all between 1.5" to 2.5" depth of carbon. I'll be recirculating the air in a sealed room with it. Just a bit daunted by all the choices. Anybody happy with eBay ones? Or is the CanFilter superior? Or another brand?

I honestly think they all work good. YOu really cant fail with active carbon and a solid filter. Its kinda hard to fuck up, an as easy to design pice of equipment as a carbon scrubber in my opinion. Ive tried a few and they all had the same result with the same ammount of active carbon. Just don't get one that is too small for your amount of plants. Space isnt the onyl factor, its also how much of the space the plants take up. If your filtering a large amount of cannabis thats overgrowing the room vs a much smaller amount, you may need a bigger scrubber to take care of the extra odor,do not jsut go by room size. I say if space permits it, always get the bigger fan and scrubber.

Sounds like total pounds of carbon may be the defining number to look at with any of these then.

I ordered a Can 33 today just to get something quick and since it matched the CFM of my 6" fan, but I'll still need a larger unit and fan later, so please keep the suggestions/advice/opinions coming! Thanks!

Just read that the profilter has a flange that can switch to the other side.

Makes good sense, most of the air goes through the filter area nearest the inlet flange. Switching to the other side will probably get you quite a few more months before a change.

for another $50.00u.s. I can have two fresh 24x6" Phat filters though unless a 6" model can be found for less than $150.00

Only on models above the 70s are the flanges reversible

Which carbon air filter? Can, ActiveAir, eBay?

I've got an eBay filter, not name brand but the seller just sells a number of different sizes. It works great, came with ties and a Prefilter. Also some extra carbon to top off with. I would highly recommend buying an eBay filter as long as you do the research and spot one with a quality build

UK eBayers try...

Nice folks (judging by their friendly emails), lightning quick and discreet. Cheap filters with good build quality.
Sorry probably not relevant to OP location... but worth a mention maybe.

My Can 100 and 125's last about a year.

Phresh last around 2.

I have a 12" can lite still going strong for almost 2 years now.

Also have two more 12" can lite's that work excellent.
