Which AF Dwarf Strain should I buy?

Hi Everyone

I have a grow capacity of 60cm so I'm looking at an AF dwarf strain and wondered what you'd recommend.

I'm looking for something thats easy to grow (in soil), produces around 14g per plant and has a good THC content (everything I've read so far says avoid Lowryder #1 ??)

Also, ideally, I'd like to be able to buy feminised seeds only so that its more idiot proof and I've found two strains so far:

Lowryder 2 and Easy Ryder

Are there any more ?? Which of the above two has a stronger high/THC and is easier to grow ??

Any other recommendations ?

Thanks

Of the two, I'd pick the Easy Rider for it's AK genetics. Don't waste time and money on LR I. LR II is okay but others are better.

I'd suggest taking a look at Diesel Ryder, White Russian, Himalayan Blue Diesel, Mi5 and Onyx. All produce more, are more potent, available feminized and easy to grow.

a lot of those strains and even Easy Ryder get too tall for a 60 cm grow space,, you need something that stays short in soil, LR#2 is your best bet. but still you might be growing into the lights at before the end. 3ft is the real minimum for AF grow space height due to the heat from the lights and shit.

LR#2 might get tall to your lights, so consider tie them down, or get Himalayan Blue from short stuff, HB stays short makes around 1/2 oz each nice taste and potency, and I just checked my favorite seed seller, the originator of shortstuff seeds, and they are available in fem form.

Mossys Gem is always a possibility... Havent grown em out my self yet but from what I have heard and seen they stay short, yield a bout half an oz, look incredible and potency and taste is up there..

Short Stuff is very reliable in my experience. Also Low Life. For shorter strains, look at the ones with indica genetics.

I found all to be fairly easy to grow. My yields outdoors for indica based were between 1/3 - 1/2 ounce per plant.

thanks everyone for all the info - for AF in soil would you also recommend a Fogger to keep the humidity up as the air in my grow box gets quite dry, or is it not as necessary for AF's, as it would be for normal plants in Veg ??? Also from what I've read, pot size is very important - I was going to start them off in a heater propagator in just peat moss in 3 inch cups and then after 2 weeks move them to 6.5 litre pots in a mix of peat moss, coco fibre, perlite, vermiculite, sea bird guano, worm castings, dolomite lime and bat guano - would this be the correct way to do it (putting them from start to finish on a 18/6 schedule)???

Lowryder strains seem to be suceptable to mold i wouldn't fog anything. Mine are pretty dry, as far as humidity goes, never had a issue ither way. Ruderalis comes from a reagion that isn't exactly humid all the time.

I think you need to stay with some of the smaller varieties like Automatic Hindu Kush, Automatic Blueberry, Automatic Lemon Skunk or Purple Jems all of which are rated at about 14" tall. It's as if these were designed for small cabinets and pc grow cases.

6.5 liter pots are probably bigger than you need, especially for dwarfs. A 1 1/2 or 2 gallon size would be good. I used 3 gallon last year and they were too big for all except Mi5. I start mine in deep 4 1/2" square pots that are big enough for the first 3-4 weeks. I transplant after sexing so I'm not wasting a lot of good soil on males. I just started a batch in 6 x 6 x 9" that I think will be a good size for indoors growing. Also, 20/4 is the recommended light cycle for autos.

i thought that 6.5 litres was 1.7 gallons ?? Also I was thinking of the following strains because they are available in feminised (thus taking away another potential problem of males, for me as a beginner): Low Ryder 2 and Blue Himalaya - do both of these strains have the potency of normal skunk, more or less ???

My mistake. You are right, they would be a good size.

LR II, I would classify as a medium potency, say 5 out of 10. Diesel Ryder a 7, Blue Himalayan x diesel an 8, White Russian an 8 and Mi5 a 9. BHxD, DR, WR as well as some others are all available feminized.

thanks - I think I'm going to start with Low Ryder 2 and Blue Himalayan.

Here is my rough grow plan - any comments / suggestions / alterations would be greatly appreciated and accepted !

I have a BC Northern Lights Bloom box so I'm going to start off the seeds in the Veg side in a Heated Propagator for two weeks under the veg light on an 18/6, gradually opening the propagator vents more and more until fully open. I'm going to put the seeds into 4 inch cutouts just containing Peat Moss.

So my first major question is .......During this two week period is the peat moss alone ok (along with two day old PH Adjusted Tap Water) or do I need to add a mild nute during their first two weeks ?? If so I was thinking of a mild tea with Compost, Worm Castings and Sea Bird Guano.

After two weeks I was going to transfer them to the flowering side again on 18/6 with a HPS 400w Light (the Bloom Box can only be set to 18/6 or 12/12 and NOT 20/4)

THe Soil mix will be Peat Moss, Perlite, Vermiculite, Sea Bird Guano, Coco, Dolomite Lime, Worm Castings and Bat Guano. I have to make this up myself as here in Uruguay stuff like Fox Farm is just not available.

THe plan is to make it two weeks before use to let it 'get to work' and maybe add some molassess to activate it

I'm hopeful that once transplanted I won't need to add anything other than the two day old PH Adjusted tap water and if any deficiencies appear then do a tea with bat guano - or.....should I be giving them flowering nutes anyway (like Bat Guano) even with this proposed soil mix.

Also, if anyone has any comments about the percentages for each of my proposed ingredients for the main soil mix that would be great to !

For 6 x 6.5 litre pots (total of 39 litres) someone has suggested this:

Perlite 13 L
Vermiculite 6.5 L
Worm Castings 6.5 L
Peat Moss 6.5 L
Coco Fibre 6.5 L

Bat Guano 2 Cups
Bird Guano 2 Cups
Domolite Lime 2 Tablespoons
