I thought id post up some pics of my male plant that i used in a cross a couple of years ago

he was grown full organic under the sun in the greenhouse. He had small sticky flowers, a nice coat of trichs on all the flowers was one of the main reasons i used his pollen..he was also a fast grower that grew a nice fat root system(something iv always seen as a good trait) and he started flowering very early and was fast outdoors also his brothers and sisters also showed early flowering outdoor and purple colouration..I pollinated the skunk#1 females that were also in the greenhouse.
Everyday we lots of great pics of females plants and bud pics...so im saying wheres all the males at???
Lets see pics of your male plants..
Breeders especially i would like to see drop by and tell us what you look for in a male plant when using it for breeding?
Are trichomes on the flowers and leaves a common occurance?
How do you define the potency of a male etc. etc.

I think alot of us overlook the importance of the staminate plant....so lets see some males...peace :D

Great post Dr. D. I've wondered those same questions. As of yet I've never had need to keep a male, but I let one go last time just to see what it'd do and they do have their own unique beauty to them.

Males throughout my g33 project are selected for branching structure, visible trichs in veg, ease of cloning, and general hardiness...
The Casey Jones project males are being selected for vigor, leaf shape, internodal spacing, and trich visibility...
Also aroma comes into play to a small degree, The selected casey males will have a sweetness when the stem is rubbed...
I'll take some pics next male flower cycle...

Well they've only been on 12/12 for 2 weeks today but the male I posted above looks like he's getting some trichs on the top fan leaves

Will post once it's a bit more obvious

Heres a couple of pics of the g13skunk male i have in flower..he seems to be flowering very slow which i think could be due to the fact that i snapped back the main stem and i have read that this can stunt a male..she hasnt dropped any pollen yet and has been in 12/12 for over 4 weeks

... hopefullly get him into a flower cab with the other male as son as i can get a red envirolite..peace

Dr D, good thread. I like to see the males...since I always execute them.....

I just noticed how many times you used the word "her" or "she" to denote the male plant above....we are creatures of habit, eh?
