Where to put cooltube in cabinet?

I've come to the conclusion that my cab cannot hold my cooltube, vortex, and carbon filter. So I've decided, thanks to some corrections from members here, to have the carbon filter at the end, connected to cooltube, and mount the vortex outside the cab sucking air out. My only question now is where to put the filter in my cab? Should I mount it vertically in the back corner of the cab or against the back of the cab (between the cooltube and back of cab)? I think vertically in the corner is going to present less bends in the ducting, making the exhaust more effective. The only reason I hesitate is because of the surface area of the filter being blocked by the cab side and back.

Why not just set the filter on top of the fan outside the cab? Then you'd have more room inside the cab for buds.

i guess my only question would be, how is teh whole apparatus setup?

for example in my cab its going to be: filter ---> cooltube ---> blower ---> outside.
the air gets pulled in from the outside from holes in the bottom of the cab, the holes are going to be drilled in a grid type fashion in order that the incoming air flows over as much of the fan leaves as possible.

it may be kinda of tricky but maybe you could place the filter ontop of the cool tube, permitting you have the height space. if your concerned about the surface area , or scrubbing area, of the filter you could hang it like some people hang a vortex fan by suspending it with straps.

what exactley are the dimensions of said cab if you dont mind me asking? its also possible to reconstruct a new filter in a DIY fashion, if your up for it that is. but teh dimensions would need to be seen here as well, since this a new thread and maybe not enough people have seen it yet to give better advice.

could you have a cooltube setup with vent fan on it solely and then have the filter connected to the vortex,. that way the light would alwasy stay cool and teh vortex woudl be working on odor only and not cooling. that way if you wanted to in the future (no matter how small your cab is) you could add CO2 eventually.

im still in the processof getting my cab together so ive been pondering these types of scenarios for a while now. but yeah put the dimensions of everything on here to give us all a fighting chance to help you out (the filter, cooltube, fan, size of cab )

i am currently trying to cut this damned vase i got from micheals so i could go ahead and make the new cooltube. i designed one a while back, but looking at it now, i have lost faith in it and have decided to go with the glass tube with the strip of reflector on top. i can do it, its just this damned glass tube is really hard to cut, or rahter i am being overly cautious about it since i dont want it to crack/break on me while trying to cut the bottom of it off

oh yeah that hood has the cooltube underneath it, you cant see it but its there lol. even with some gaps and leaks that damned thign scrubbed teh hell out of the air coming out of that cab.

word to the wise, you are going to have to go with what works best for you, thisi know, but try your best to have that filter on the starting end and there cant be any gaps!!. PULLING the air through is definitely more effficient but if there are gaps or leaks along the ducting line then UNSCRUBBED air will make it through. use your aluminum tape as effectively as possible. seal things up best you can.
